HVL87 I suppose they are omni roasts
If they are, then it can be used for filter and espresso. I would perhaps call it as a balanced or an optimal roast taking the faster or a slower roast profile.
This is specifically meant for filter. An example is Extract coffee’s filter! I spoke to them asked why a filter roast bag be ordered for an espresso grind? They said it is a standard feature on their site for their customers, should they be interested in. The roaster advised me that they won’t recommend this bag for espresso.
The filter roast has a relatively shorter roasting profile, more acidic and less soluble than the espresso profile. This is akin to light roast or medium light, where we often grind finer.
HVL87 I did try Bom Jesus from casuals. Whilst I was expecting medium/dark mine was very dark and ashy.
I would still be tempted to call this a medium dark than medium. I got some red fruity flavour with chocolate after taste especially with milk. It a good coffee, better than the Fazenda but won’t be on our subscription list.
