You might have seen my Minima being packed up today and picked up by DHL. Some really machines in different states of being made.

@"Verion"#p28907 I received pick up notification but I have not received my Import `Duty bill. That is normally issued when it lands in the UK before it clears customs. The delivered before is a nonsense. They say that to give them 7 days in which to deliver it in case you live in a remote area!

coffeealex when I read Dave’s comment on black as coal, I felt embarrassed to share that I had some very good espresso is many cafe in Naples. One of them was in the arrival hall of airport :)

Knluk I did not think Dave meant the comment as a negative one in terms of quality, I believe he was just referring to the way the coffee looked and its strength. He will of course correct me If I am wrong. Personally I don’t believe you should feel embarrassed to share the fact that you have had many good espresso’s in Naples as Napoli is considered by many where the real authentic Italian coffee is served, and arguably rated as the best in class for espresso lovers. You might have noticed that in most cafes (of which Naples boasts many) they will serve you water with the coffee. For many that is used to cleanse the pallet before you drink the coffee, so you can appreciate its quality. You compare that to your Costa type coffee where as part of the choice is small, medium or large for say cappuccino, which no bar in Naples would entertain as there is only one size. The right size.

MediumRoastSteam - my wife always use hazelnut/oat milk to make latte with the espresso machine. It kind of tastes good to me but I feel it is not real coffee. When drink black, she also prefers filtered than my espresso. I have not found love with filter coffee or Americano yet.

Just arrived, drain valves. Soon to be standard (from next few weeks) on Vesuvius Evo and E61 brew and steam boilers. For Minima, steam boiler only due to lack of room. Looks like we’re being listened to.

Verion No, but why would it affect your warranty, unless the problem was caused by the valve. E.g If you fitted one, water leaked out and damaged the control box, the you wouldn’t claim a control box under warranty.

But if you fit one and a pump fails, why would it affect the warranty.

DavecUK I wrongly assumed that if we modded our machines it would void our warranty.

But since it’s going to be standard, as long as we follow the guide to add the valve, and competently do it, then the warranty doesn’t come into it.

@DavecUK did you get a chance to visit Antonio Nurri and see his workshop? Pretty sure he is in Naples and from memory you have a long standing relationship with him.

As an aside, the retailer here in Austalia who I’m buying a Nurri through, messaged me to say that Antoni had received more than 60 orders at the Milan coffee show that you attended a few months ago. That must have been very encouraging for him.
