Good morning Beverast, from what you say it seems that your machine now works “normally”. You don’t worry about whether the disc is more or less wet. The humidity of the disc has much more to do with the degree of grinding, filter, type of coffee and the pressure that you have determined than with the operation of the machine. It is something like coffee cream … Sometimes you see videos on the internet of cafes with a very beautiful cream but that you have not been able to taste and that surely do not taste as good as they appear… On the other hand, sometimes there are coffees without cream or that have been shot out of the ratio 26 - 30 seconds (because they have needed it) and it turns out that their taste is very good. The disc normally indicates if the shot was correct but not always or in all types of coffee. Possibly your wet disk has nothing to do with whether your machine works well or badly. The disc normally indicates if the shot was correct but not always or in all types of coffee. Possibly your wet disc has nothing to do with whether your machine works well or badly but with the way you shoot the coffee (if I remember correctly, you are new to this and shooting an espresso requires time and a lot of patience at first). 🙂😌
In summary, our machines are good machines and they work well (your first machine would have worked the same as the one you have now if the lever switch had been adjusted well or replaced). They allow to work at 8.5 to 13 bars. They allow to work in a wide range of temperatures. They allow to install a flow regulator. Everything’s okay. You have bought a good machine if you don’t want milk in your cafe. And all in an incredibly compact size!
Finally, our machines have, in my opinion, a small design error, which only affects the fact that the machine is turned on with a timer. The machine absorbs a small amount of air that makes the thermosyphon not circulate by itself if you do not activate the pump to eliminate that air when turning on the machine.
That’s it! If you activate the pump for 2 seconds when starting the machine, the machine works perfectly.
I am trying to talk to my salesperson and ECM to try to fix that little design error. I’ll keep you informed.
I hope I have helped you and have not confused you more … 🙂😌
