Light roasts, something i have yet to explore but think i would like to.
Looking for recommendations for a good starter bean to try.

Also, pointers on how to get the best out of it, I believe i may need to have a higher temperature to extract from a lighter roast?
Do i try with my normal use pattern first, 18g in, 30 ish second pour, 36g out?

All you can do is try, you may need to go longer as in 1:3

Decent De1pro v1.45 - Niche Duo - Niche Zero - Decent is the best machine ever made -

Up the temperature to 93c or thereabouts.

Be prepared for what may look like channelling I.e. 2 or 3 different spouts with a gap or two. So long as the color is fairly consistent across the bottom of the basket the taste should be nicely balanced.

And increase whatever your normal “grams in” is by 2 grams because light grinds will sit lower in the basket. Adjust the 2 grams to 1 gram if the former is too much.

And be prepared for brightness! It won’t be as full bodied as darker roasts but neither should it taste like sour lemonade as some report.
