Something I think would be really useful on the Philos is a funnel lid with a window in it.
The little ‘gate’ works perfectly as an anti-popcorn device and I love it for keeping the next dose ready in the funnel if I’m making multiple coffees. However sometimes I’ll close the gate too quickly and a bean or two didn’t make it through.
Obviously you can leave the lid off to see this but the lid works well as a secondary anti-popcorn when the gate’s open.
I don’t want to just bodge something together and spoil how the Philos looks so maybe a nice wooden lid with a 2” hole in and a perspex disc fitted in could work well.
Alternatively a clear plastic version of the existing lid would also work well.
