That ranking “review” was easily by far the worst thing I have seen that hedrick has produced - it is heavily skewed towards his favourite grinders the eg1 and tbe max 2 where he down played and failed to penalise their weaknesses while for the p100, his most important point appeared to be pure speculation unbacked up by Any evidence (that the p100 supposedly reground beans - a totally incorrect accusation) while the rest were remarkable petty and trivial things some of which had been overtaken and addressed by improvements (the clicker for example) while the others are not an issue in real practical use (eg the versa tumbler being supposedly easy to be knocked off its perch - it can only be knocked off if u make direct contact with the tumbler).
The p100 is the grinder the eg1 wishes it was while it’s workflow is at industry leading levels - it,s workflow ssems essily superior to the Max 2 from what I have seen from reports.
You are right about looks being subjective though when it comes to coffee gear - I consider the p100 the most aesthetically elegant and beautiful coffee grinder in the world bar none. It has the purest Modernist design of any grinder I have ever seen - it is entirely made up of cylindrical shapes throughout. Next to it, the 01 looks derivative (looks like a supersized fellow ode), massive and unbalanced as a design.
