whinmoor85 I assume he doesn’t want to deal with the hostile nature this place has towards Youtubers and the endless arguments etc.
I think that most of us aren’t hostile to YouTubers in general. Its when (unlike Tom) some YouTube “Influencers”: a) post videos that are full of hyperbole and sensationalism, just to generate buzz and YouTube clicks and sales for their sponsors, b) do the preceding and provide incorrect, misleading or unsubstantiated information, under the guise of being an expert, c) not (in bold print) disclose their sponsors or commercial conflicts. And there are some coffee “Influencers” that tick boxes a) and c), and even some that tick box b). And I just don’t support any of that. I’m a consultant and am always required to disclose my potential conflicts to my intended clients.
Sorry but that is why I am jaundiced about how the YouTube platform fosters all of this, even though there are good people there (like Tom and Dave) who are honest and sincere and are just using the platform to get well substantiated information out to the public. Anyone with a video camera can now become an onscreen expert, and people with limited knowledge can be misled.
But … the flip side of this coin is that YouTube has become so pervasive, along with Influencers that display the characteristics that I described above, that there is a real need for honest, truthful and trustworthy people like Dave and Tom to provide unbiased and well substantiated information on YouTube.
