Replaced the opv due to it sticking and developing a build up on the inside. (Seems to have been a known issue a couple years back looking at the forum).

Initially worked fine yesterday when I replaced it but today noticing a leak.

I used molykote on the internal thread. I’m wondering if this was a mistake?

I tightened it to what feels the same extent as the original so I don’t think I’ve over tightened it but equally don’t feel it’s loose.

Any thoughts appreciated

You need PTFE tape, or thread sealant, not molycote! You don’t need to grease that. 👍

Thanks for the quick reply. Forgive my ignorance on this, but will using a thread sealant create issues undoing it in the future if it needed replacing again?
      Thanks

RDeG - no worries. I think so. But there are different strength thread sealants. I’m sorry I haven’t got a clue about them.

For us, on our domestic machines, PTFE tape will do the job just as well.

If you Google lelit insider, that’s what they recommend, and show, when repairing our machines, replacing valves, etc. 👍
