Mine’s over two years old now, flawless experience. Zero problems. For the ‘no frills/low maintenance’ they’re perfect. Saturated style group helps temp stability through shots and in my experience makes for a more forgiving shot. I underestimated the effect of ‘during shot’ temp stability and it does make a difference.
Build quality on the original (previous gen) Mini is unlike anything else I’ve seen. That isn’t to say others are bad but it’s on another level. The gauge of the panels seems overkill almost. And although the knobs/paddle are plastic, it’s that sort of indestructible plastic that’s got some serious heft to it.
On the build quality, I suspect (can’t confirm as I’m basing this on what I’ve seen online and haven’t seen in person) the Micra and current ‘Mini R’ aren’t quite as good. People have confirmed some of the steel isnt as thick and a member here found some plastic components in the internals which are brass on the Mini. I suspect this is a sign that LM’s home and commercial machines are becoming more separate whereas I’ve handled LM commercial machines and the original Mini is 100% built to those standards. It’s effectively a single group commercial machine with a reservoir.
For my money, if the space is there, I’d go lightly used Mini over a Micra, but the Micra is obviously still a good option if you’re limited on space.
Sorry @Elcarajillo deviated a bit there but hopefully of some value to your search!
