I’ve only seen it advertised at around £1450, is the £880 a special ’in at the ground floor’ price?

MAXTHEDOG Morning Max! I suspect that you are US. Due to the distance and cost the US model seems to be to buy through a dealer network. In Europe it is different and a lot of manufacturers are now trying to sell direct to the public. With there being no dealer profit to factor in, the consumer pays 30 to 40% less. But in the event of an issue, thy have to deal directly with the factory…..hence the price discrepancy

I do not have a link but I believe from what I have read on other coffee forums that mazzer have set up direct distribution to the USA as well

Yeah it’s ridiculous how some retailers have priced it. I feel for the people who’ve been stung.

Mazzer were brilliant to deal with. Quick emails, helpful with questions. I just checked back, it was 6 days from ordered to delivered to the UK from Venice.

I do not know if these so called resellers are doing so legally for this product. But they are making enough profit they can afford to do their own warranty , if you are lucky!!

Thinking of buying a Lagom Casa for my sister. Based on this review very similar to mazzer philos with i200D at half the price. Recommended for light/medium light roasts.

oddbean He used to be a member of this forum. He spent a year or so here before eventually leaving to go down the YT channel route. I would say a couple of things. Not many subscribers, next to no technical or engineering experience so what makes him suitable for dishing out advice? He bigged up the Olympia grinder here and a couple of folks went on to buy them, and regretted it very quickly. Caveat Emptor!

don’t think he said just like, but similar. though I will never know for sure, as I won’t be testing grinders side by side with 2 decents in any forseeable future.

Cuprajake hes a sales man, i dont think ive ever seen a neg review from him, so just be careful on the recommendations.

he always mentions buying the grinders and not receiving them for free. but will ask him and see if he is paid by any producer. also it’s not like he’s reviewing Sage grinders. All his reviews are for good grinders.

oddbean Tom is quite fair and does/did buy most of the stuff he tests and discloses if he has been sent it…..but……he is desperate to make it on YT. He has thrown a lot of money at the venture. I still say in my humble he does not know what he is talking about when it comes to engineering points. Yes, he can appeal to some with his style of openness but where has he obtained his technical abilities from? He had none when he was on this forum making mistake after mistake and costing some members a great deal of money by suggesting that the Olympia Moka SD was one of the best grinders available to man……they are not and never were!
