The trick to installing them…..

Sit on a chair with shoulders approx level with the shower screen location

Put circlip on a flat surface

Insert pliers, Open pliers slightly and Pick it up , ensuring pins are flush to the surface of the circlip, thats important.

Insert shower screen with other hand with one finger holding it.

Swap finger as you offer up the circlip, locating circlip at back edge. Use the free hand now to press on the circlip near the pliers pins, pushing it in position. Release pliers.

15 seconds max 😎🤪

FWIW, I use the stock shower screen with GU10. It a tighter fit than with the IMS. It served me well for almost 4 years. Each to their own. 😊

LMSC yeah im using the stock screen also. Mine tends to get angled with the GU10 spring, so I switched over to the circlip Adrian kindly linked. I find the install is a bit fiddly (as Jake said above), but the distribution is pretty good. I might check out the Sworks screen if it simply screws in. Dont mind throwing that in the sonic bath once a week, and cleaning the piston head.

But what happens when we introduce paper or mesh filters on top of the puck

While the decent shower screen is £17 that’s worth a punt, cant imagine the cost if the sworks for the evo, but then the evo can have triple the flow so dunno now much difference that makes at those fill rates. , 2seconds and the puck is over 2bar.

Cuprajake at this level, it seems to be more about reducing variables. Some people will pay more for that than others (hence a lone person originally commissioning Sheldon). Those that will pay don’t care about cheaper solutions or DIY workarounds.

Yes. It usually comes down to that. Here, it seems to be centered around d convenience of removal for some, and a potential better distribution for wetting (not to be confused with rate of fill and soak time). Add the hobby and willingness to experiment on top, and Sheldon has enough to sustain a bespoke biz.

Theres more going on though that we cant see, when it’s all under pressure surely the fluid dynamics change, the pf decent made to catch water is a good idea, but again without coffee kn there was cant truly know whats happening.

Then i think to myself can one really taste a difference with that given there are so many variables

Ive not looked at the spec for the new rotary pump used in the evo 2 but i know the gear pump was very quick fill.
