mathof2 Systemic I share everyone else's shock, sorrow and appreciation of Dave's tireless efforts on behalf of us all.
Grahamsphillips When I was starting my coffee journey, Dave was a simply invaluable resource. I blame him for my NICHE Zero, my ACS Vesuvius and my EVO. Always willing to help and share his knowledge. We'll all miss him tremendously
Adrianmsmith Grahamsphillips Grahamsphillips . I blame him for my NICHE Zero, my ACS Vesuvius and my EVO I can very much associate with that feeling đ„°
PortafilterProcrastinator A huge shock and very sad news. He was tireless in his endeavours to support the coffee community and it is a huge loss. My condolences to his family and friends, my thoughts are with you all.
dfk41 I noted that our friends over on Home Barista acknowledged Dave's passing with a number of members expressing their sympathy but our 'friends' over at the other UK coffee forum have chosen to ignore things https://www.home-barista.com/knockbox/dave-corbey-davec-is-no-longer-with-us-t101615.html
dfk41 Cuprajake why would a forum want a closed section? Be that as it may, a simple acknowledgement would not hurt anyone now, would it?
Paolo_Cortese I think that it doesnât matter if other forums speak about Dave, he built this forum to keep everything free and out of different politics rules on other forums. He had a lot of friends and a lot of sort of enemies, unfortunately most of them have a limit vision and the result is under our eyes. I was really disappointed that after that I informed privately someone about Dave due of long relationship, the first things was to claim some machines sitting in Daveâs house from a long time and they didnât send nothing to me saying just âthank youâ. So much better to think our experience and what Dave did for us instead think of othersâŠ.
nopapercup What terribly sad news. I echo what many have said about Dave. I never met him, but he was incredibly generous with his time and knowledge. I always enjoyed reading his reviews, watching his YouTube videos and interacting with him on this and the old Coffee Forum. My thoughts are with his family and friends. The coffee world won't be the same without Dave
Clodius Out of respect for Dave Iâve been limiting my comments/posts. I felt like he needed a moment of silence and also didnât want it to feel like weâre already moving on, but life doesnât stop. Maybe itâs too early to ask, but what is going to happen to this forum?
Systemic Clodius Maybe itâs too early to ask, but what is going to happen to this forum? Iâve contacted Freeflarum and waiting for them to get back to me. Hopefully, the forum will continue in its present form which would be a fitting legacy for Dave.
Systemic Thank Jake. I am confident the forum will continue which will be a fitting legacy for Dave. Will update forum members when the time is right.
