Did get close (just in the pre-diabetic range) but after losing 4.5 stone I soon sorted that.
Once a glutton (5′4″ weighing in at 15 stone 1 lb) I am now in the ‘A little of what you fancy does you good’ camp. So, as I have always loved to cook and bake that will not stop, just the consumption is moderated. Therefore, the ice cream as with anything, is make the best I can with my limited skills and funds (same way I approach my coffee). And I have to say on this occasion, it has paid off. The faux Haagen Daaz Belgian Chocolate was chuffin lovely! Easily as good as the real thing.
Next up will be the Butter Pecan Ice Cream and the beauty of doing it ‘right’ with the ‘proper’ ingredients, means it will last a long time in the freezer without forming ice crystals every time it is taken out and then re-frozen.
