@"RobertRo101"#p9667 I've been using the V3 for almost a year now…low flow works well. Especially good if you don't want to move the paddle..It was one of my favourite new things on Bianca. For the upgrade you would need a new LCC, some wiring and the additional solenoid with a slight plumbing change.

The Bianca Review is a version 1, so quite old now. I may well update it…essentially the machine is unchanged except for the addition of the new features. I may have a few extra features the production version doesn't have, and my solenoid is slightly different (they are sending me a replacement, if I get any problems with mine)… I was originally sent it to try it and see if there were any problems…which there were not…it wall worked very well. I don't think I have a manual, but I will download the production manual as my version a year ago has something else I won't mention, until I find out if it was in the production version. I suspect my software might not be exactly the same version, but again until you guys by one and if the software version is on the back of the LCC I won't know…plus mine could still have been a reflashed LCC. I have to be very careful when commenting on pre production stuff so early in the chain. Really like the version 3 though, as compared to the version 1, lots of features were new….and I do need to update my version 1 to a version 2.

This is why, despite my recent challenges, I really love the Bianca (and Lelit). I have been toying with updating to LCC 2. I may hang fire and update to LCC v3 though, with my new found boldness for tinkering with the machine 😉

The Low flow used in conjunction with PI seems to be a good combination. Dave, have you been using just the low flow or do you always use the PI with it ?

Really great feature. It basically mirrors the profile I use 99% of the time so it’s handy to be able to automate it. It’s also really awesome to see Lelit iterating on what is already a fantastic machine. It’s impressive how quickly the group head pressure changes when the low flow kicks in.

Its a good option, not sure id rip my machine apart for it, but its a good out the box incentive to buy the v3 over a competitor

there will hopefully be some other upgrades that the new LCC bring that are worthwhile.

In all honesty, if Lelit follows the trend by the parent company (Breville/Sage), we won’t see an updated version in a long time. When was the last time the Sage Dual boiler got an update?

james65477564 not a huge amount but a few temp difference can be done. As we saw with kaffemacher test temp drop 2°c toward the end. Probably a bit more with longer shot, maybe?

Cuprajake i think he mentioned the flow control similar to Bianca, and the drip tray has space for a scale like Acaia with can be paired to shot by weight. I watched it very briefly and did not pay a close attention mind you.

Breville did release new Impress line up so they are not stalling. I think they aim for bigger gap so it makes more senses for the customers to upgrade. Nobody in the right mind will sell a Bianca v2 to buy a v3. Some hardcore users could buy parts and upgrade but that is definitely a minority. I think breville want it to be more appliances, which you upgrade after a few years, either because the old one breaks or because the gap in features is big enough

Cuprajake yeah it is easy to underestimate the complexity of that “feature”. It is not only tapping in a bluetooth module (and the similar gadget is sold for $500), but if you want to share profiles, you need a way to regulate water flow automatically and precisely, namely gearpump like in Acs Vesuvius.

Bianca is already $3300 in the us. Adding those features would make it well above$ 4000, losing any

competitive advantages they might have. And I think that moving into $4000 category not many people would even consider an E61

My wife doesn’t have a problem with it. She said “I’m happy for you to have two grinders… But two coffee machines? That’s a bit much”. In fact, two grinders for my needs is a bit much anyway, so I’ll eventually sell the Zero, I think.

I also showed her a picture of the Bianca in stainless steel, in black and in white. Personally, I like it in black. My wife said I can have the Bianca, as long as it’s the stainless steel version. My machine is always covered when not in use anyway, so I don’t understand why the colour is a problem.

I’m in no hurry. I am 100% happy with the Elizabeth.

MediumRoastSteam go for it. For a while you can have both Bianca and Elizabeth (and for my dirty mind that sounds like th***some, which is awesome).

I think black and white look good, but if anything that wow me it’s the stainless steel version. look is biggest itch I have with Elizabeth (not exactly ugly, just “boring”).

And then you can get low flow pre infusion (whatever it’s called), and flow control, which is universally agreed that has biggest impact on espresso quality

Yet… As you said on another post, most people use for the first week and then forget all about it. 😀

delta76 There are only a few people actively use the flow / pressure profile. Most people buy machines without and many never bother use it after the honeymoon period.

For me the good thing about the Bianca is not the flow control valve - I’m not really interested in that. But I am interested in the slow/fast flow at the start and the express warm up time.

@Cuprajake as you owned/own both v2 and v3, I have a question to ask. Some people claimed that v3 is better built than v2. I that your experience? I have not seen either in real life and will likely never touch a v2, so I am just curious

i have the black v3 which has a different drip tray, body is the same, i cant see much difference really, they are well built machines, down to the rubbers with lelit logos and the valve bodys

Cuprajake not really what I was asking. also the common opinion is that espressos from lever machines taste different (sweeter etc.), due to unique pressure profile which many people like. @DavecUK himself said so (his best espressos are from Evo Leva)

bianca is the best bang for buck sub 2k, the ecm equivalent is £2300 here, synkronica is the same as the coloured biancas at £2500, then theres the micra at £3000 and the decent followed by the evo leva £3500 and the linea mini £4k and the nurri £4500 and the list goes on and on,

each one will make similar coffee if thats what you want.

Taste is subjective - you may or may not like what Dave likes. If you like a lever profile shot, as in, in the case of the V lever, a 11 bar shot going down to 7, then you may enjoy it.

Some people like less pressure, some people prefer a “less traditional” style, with longer ratios, lighter roasts and lower pressure.

The Evo does produce a good cup of coffee - but other machines do too. It all depends what you like.
