I’ve been using a BWT jug and the Magnesium Gourmet filter. Seems to work well.

Bought an expensive coffee for pour over and bought some bottled distilled water, and added Third Wave. Got a really good result.

Someone recommended a Peak Water jug, and being a gadget freak, I was tempted.

I’m getting a bit confused to be honest. There are some knowledgable people on this forum. My head tells me the BWT should be good enough, and a move to Peak Water wouldn’t be detectable, as it’s essentially the same filtering process.

Any thoughts please?

I use a BWT Mg+ jug, with my tap water it gives me about 70mg/L alkalinity (tested with a drop kit), coffee tastes great, no mixing, or faffing.

The Peak isn’t the same it theoretically has a variable bypass to tune your alkalinity. I’m not sure that it actually worked in the field.

You really need to know what you’re starting with, so check out your water authority report (in depth, you want to know the alkalinity not just the hardness).
