Spid3r00 any news regarding overshooting the pressure on Vesuvius? What can we hope it will happen to solve

I have nothing, I’m out of ideas?

Spid3r00 by the moment i haven’t news about the machine, my dear @Paolo_Cortese Have you could see the machine fail? It’s difficult to believe the machine don’t replay the problem there…i’m searching flight to Naples, days 18 or 19 of December Are there posibility to visit your factory?

Let me know when you can please!

    Thanks a lots.

I’m waiting a reply overall i need to know if book the flight or not… everyway a solution must be found!!!

Spid3r00 there was a similar issue a couple years back and I believe it was incorrect magnets on the motor…??

dougyea I don’t believe the magnet is issue in this case.

In my case previous owner change the magnet in the pump some months ago.

Vesuvius leak free for a week now 🫣
      Second repair attempt.
First attempt I assembled as it should be
My issue has been getting the outside and inside elbow “tight” in the correct orientation.
Tried it anyway using ptfe thread locker .
Worked ok for 3 days and started weaping again.
Guess as the thread locker went hard the steam found it’s way around.this was not the stuff Dave recommended I have to say. Just a Screwfix special.

I’ve had a bee in my bonnet for a while about the choice of fittings used so have changed the elbow on the back of the steam valve to a ¼ to 8mm compression straight fitting. Can now get everything nice and tight and not have to worry about orientation. This time I got a new ptfe washer from acs (when I got the evo oak handles last month) could not get correct thickness on Amazon. Just used ptfe tape on the screw fittings font and on my new coupling.
Am in to the second week now and leak free!!

Forgot to photo the pipework prior to assembly!!

Will do the same to the other valve if I ever need to disturb it .

      About Me

Sounds a bit esoteric this?! When I recommended changing pump settings I didn’t get a response to it, Dave seems to have had no issue with the machine performance when he did this in Naples? Interested to hear what @kautivo experiences in Naples

MediumRoastSteam - hey there, any updates on this?

It seems a bit like “what happens in Naples, stays in Naples” 😄.
I hope his machine was sorted out and he is still celebrating this and the New year 😃

        i was thinking that 😅

It would be a shame, after all of this discussion, if the outcome isn’t shared. Let’s hope they are all on holiday and they will let us know what the outcome was when they are back.

Hi all, not solved, the machine remains in Naples.

Paolo asked us to remove the gliceur and try to reproduce the problem. I did it and there is no difference in my machine. Service boiler on and hot, there is always a “barrier” during the first seconds at about 1,8-1,9 bars on the screen, that is what makes the pump increasing the speed and overshooting. Service boiler on but under 120º, no problem at all. I have tried it many times and have sent the videos asked to the factory. Removing the gliceur would find out if the problem is related with scale or debris.

Hi everybody, exactly as @tocateclas has written the machine is in Naples we are in contact with @Paolo_Cortese sending videos with test without glicer but the machine follow failing!

Dear @DavecUK the valve named as “one way” is the only part shared between both boilers if the pressure in steam boiler is high when we find the fail, Is it possible the problem happen if the valve don’t work right ? What do you think?

In Naples only could see a jump when @Paolo_Cortese removed the glicer but in this case the circuit had air, in the next test the machine didn’t jump the pressure.

        Thanks very much!!!

Regards and happy new year for everybody, i hope to find the solution this year!!!

kautivo Dear @DavecUK the valve named as “one way” is the only part shared between both boilers if the pressure in steam boiler is high when we find the fail, Is it possible the problem happen if the valve don’t work right ? What do you think?

It might be that there is am intermittent and momentary leak to the steam boiler (autofill solenoid) when the pump starts, so it speeds up thinking it needs more power to get the pressure. Then the leak stops as the pressure rises and this causes the pressure to peak momentarily (like a water hammer effect) before the pumps PID can respond…once peaked, the peak will take a while to come down as the brew circuit has a lot of resistance due to the puck now being wet.

Is @kautivo’s machine not in Naples? Did Kautivo not fly to Naples to visit ACS factory to investigate the problem with the machine at the factory? The last couple of messages are suggesting not?

JahLaza my friend yes i flied to Naples and i visited the factory, Paolo and me tested the machine there several espressos but we only saw something similar the jump of pressure when the glicer was removed but it was because the circuit had air, in the next shots the machine worked right but then we need know the parts changed there because here @AJuar and @tocateclas machines’ continue with the problem even without glicer…
