@tal needs to go through and write down all the profile settings as its likely the previous owner changed them.

Mine were all different when i got it!!

And by the time i sold it they were all more different!!

I had post it notes on the inside of the coffee cupboard door!! At the time .

Yeh, I’ve made a spreadsheet ready of the existing profiles. I’ll start my own once I’ve done more research and rewrite them all in the order that I want. When I get chance I’ll copy them into here and you can tell me if profile 1 is at default or not!

This morning I compared a profile 1 shot Vs a 5bar shot. Surprising how different they taste, ive got lots of testing to do!

Last night was spent removing the shower screen, replacing the PF gasket with a fresh one supplied and giving it all a very thorough clean. It was quite bad in there. But it’s sparkly now. Also cleaned up the portafilter, Cafiva for the PFs themselves, polished the ends with autosol, cleaned the threaded bars and ran a die over them (one was quite corroded) and greased them to prevent corrosion etc in future. All clean now! I can’t help tinkering, goes with the job :p (engineer).

I also went through the menu settings using the Vesuvius manual and set it up how I’d like the power timers, eco mode settings, checking pump settings (flow? at 300 as per forum advice) etc.

As for dimensions, I’d have to measure it, but it’s significantly bigger than the Fracino Cherub, height and footprint wise.

The machine does something that is odd to me, previous owner says he enquired on here and was told it was normal. But I would still like to enquire.

Essentially on heat up from cold, initially water, then steam, vents to and out of the drip tray drain hole. It lasts several minutes and then abruptly stops once sufficient pressure presumably is built up in the service boiler. Is this operating as expected?

I would hear my Fracino Cherubs boiler hissing a little during heat up, that would also close off once sufficient pressure was built up, but presumably that was venting within the machine and likely was no where near the qty I am seeing here.

For profiles I was thinking something along the lines of this to get me going for experimenting.

P1 - default 11bar lever profile

P2 - DaveC-1 10bar declining profile with long preinfusion

P3 - C&S Lungo - 5bar flat

P4 - spare, possibly 9bar flat, to compare to old machine

P5 - preinfusion, then 9bar flat

Any suggestions on profiles I definitely shouldn’t miss out on? There are so many to chose from those shared above!

Without a video with the top cover off during it happening i would initially suspect anti vac valve needs cleaning or for the low cost replacing .

To me, if you are removing it to have a look id replace it, assuming thats what it seems to be.

Its basically a consumable part with a long life!!!

After breakfast coffees I’ll let it cool down and do another video later!

Ok. possibly won’t do it until its been cold, so, after the last coffee turn power off, open water outlet valve and let it run to empty.

Make sure tank is full and turn power back on to fill the boiler.

Instant cold!!

Yeh, the coffee so far as been incredibly impressive, and I love the usability/workflow and build quality improvement over the Fracino.

The quality of the milk is superior also, I think the fracino was just far too aggressive for me. But I’m getting really silky milk texture from this, it’s wonderful!
