Appreciate that, it is on the other forum, looks in good condition and well looked after, so fingers crossed all goes well!
I plan to pick up a 2019 Vesuvius at the weekend, seems great value as a used buy given it’s capability and spec. Assume this machine is still relevant in 2025??
Are ACS planning to continue to support the Vesuvius with spares for the foreseeable future?
Any tips for this machine? Anything to check on inspection? I am coming from a Fracino Cherub HX machine, so a simple but reliable E61 style machine . I know ill need molykote (111?) for the cam lobe, post back flush etc. Anything else?
Thanks

Well I’ve been using it every morning before work, as an alternative to the aeropress and I really like the work flow. It’s really simple, I even set it up for my wife to use for when she gets up and she loves it too.
Her aeropress routine frustrates me as she doesn’t time anything or aim to keep anything consistent, no set process etc, I weigh and grind the coffee ready for her during my own morning routine so there isn’t a lot left for her to do. Still doesn’t care enough to time it to ensure it’s the same each day…. Aromaboy solves that though, she should be getting identical coffee each morning now.
Will need more filters soon, Melitta standard 100 brown papers OK?
Whatever you get, don’t underestimate the usefulness of external adjustment.
Thank you again, arrived today.
Will look forward to having a play with this and comparing to my regular v60.
Cheers

I’d imagine the 1 espresso at a time routine with a manual is fine, it would be dialing in something new that would get rather tedious after a few shots!
Brilliant, cheers, I’ve sent you a reply.
I’ve thrown in my hat :) sent you an email.
Kind offer
Cheers
Thank you, I think I’ll give it a try!
Tempted to pick up an Aromaboy, noticed one cheap locally on scumtree, my current brew methods for filter are Aeropress and a V60, used with a temp controlled gooseneck kettle (Fellow Stagg).
What does this little brewer bring to the table? Simplicity?
Can highly recommend the duo, bought mine off of a forum last year and it is frankly excellent.
I did pick up the filter burrs from Peter and have to say they are also excellent, on par or better than my fellow Ode gen 2. I was contemplating whether the filter butrs can replace the ode or not. From a taste perspective they definitely can, but convenience I will wait and see how I get on in the next month or so.
I’m looking to upgrade my machine next, but the duo will be with me a long time
Not arrived today, but expecting niche duo filter burrs tomorrow.
I currently have a Duo with espresso burrs, a Fellow Ode gen 2 and a K ultra hand grinder.
Want to try the duo filter burrs and see if I can say goodbye to the ode or not. My guess is switching on a Friday to espresso burrs and Monday morning back to filter burrs will get old fast and I’ll prefer my current separate grinder approach….
I have the same with my Cherub, but I put it down to the water in the heater exchanger getting very hot when idling. So I now flush before my first shot and it’s reduced the variation.
I don’t have PID control though like you do with your Bianca, so unsure if this applies to a dual boiler setup.
I guess the main thing is to isolate whether it’s your machine or grinder.
Is it driven by a thermostat? I.e turns on as required?
Probably not many Lavazza bean drinkers on here!
I’d be very interested in your thoughts once you’ve had chance to get to grips with it, especially any comparisons you can draw between your ACS machines.
You moving on the minima by any chance?….. :)
I think with this new information it would be good to know what roasters are doing to address the price rises.
I’d rather pay the extra for my go to coffees to stay the same rather than them change the beans to reduce costs.
I usually buy blends in 500g to 1kg bags for espresso and I buy the odd SO by the 250g bag as something interesting to have as filter. Mostly at the cheaper end for the majority of it, usually £20 to £30/kg for my go to espresso beans.
