dutchy101 It’s quite a bit cheaper for them and in fairness to the manufacturers, unless they have someone like me with no financial skin in the game telling them and proving to them Mazzer isn’t as good…they usually manage to convince themselves, with Italmills help, that there will be little difference. Unfortunately, this is incorrect as you have found out.
The Mazzer burr is a superior burr, I would go so far as to say, they really know how to make great burrs..even compared to SSP/Ditting etc.. Most of them are accurate to well within 30 micron on key dimensions and you can even tell they manufacture certain variants on different machines and don’t mix machines.
one thing I would like to see Mazzer do, is concentrate more on blind burrs.
