Interestingly the Uni is generating a great deal of serious interest on the Decent forum with 87 posts to date.
I suspect that because of the price of a Decent and the technical nature of its interface, the forum may attract a larger proportion of people who have bigger budgets and who are more technically inclined than most other forums so perhaps that’s why my “this is nuts” post was ignored. Almost everyone there skipped through the hype of “perpetually clean” and focussed, quite rightly, on the technical differences between a VST or Decent basket and the Uni basket.
One member has a Uni and has measured a 0.3% increase in extraction compared to the Decent filter basket. Nothing to get excited about. But he also made a comment about the difference in taste but that was based on only one shot from each basket and that difference could be due to any number of variables including a potential unconscious desire to justify paying $300+ for a new basket.
He’s planning on doing a full day of tests so at this stage it’s watch and wait.
