Just wondered how many of you have used a SCACE and if you find it useful or not?

It’s certainly useful for testing and tuning new machines, then recommending optimum PID settings
How easy are they to fit and arrive at meaningful conclusions, for newbies? @DavecUK or others in the know.
John Buckman of Decent has written about how surprised he was when he was checking machines out at the point that the DE1 was jus a twinkle in his eye, that the actual temperature of many espresso machines were significantly different from the temperature displayed on the machine. Hence my interest if a scace or the Pesado T.P.D (Temperature and Pressure Device) and that is my interest: to see if my machines are accurately reading the actual temperature at group head.
They take a little skill/understanding to use, it’s very easy to use them wrong, depending on machine type. E.g. with an actively heated group it might get be important to empty it each time, depending on the strategy the manufacturer has used for brew temp.
Or simply draw the wrong conclusions, based on simply running the shot and taking readings.
