I’ve had my Lelit Bianca for about a year now which was bought from Bella Barista.
I appreciate that the recommendation is to use water that prevents scaling and minimise the need to descale but I’m not sure how frequently that translates to in my circumstances.
I have brewed about 14kg of coffee for mostly steamed milk based drinks. I have used Volvic for the first 11 months and recently over the past month switched to 50:50 Volvic and Tesco Ashbeck. I have refreshed the boiler water every 1-2 months and have a pretty regular backflush and molycote regime both on the cam and ball joints.
When lubricating the lever I see no signs of scale at all. I have not had the need to open the group head so can’t say if there is any evidence of scale there. A little nervous about doing so but will do so if the recommendation is to inspect this for signs of scaling.
Based on this usage would the forum members recommend descaling or giving it another year before checking again?
Is there any other annual maintenance other than opening the top and inspecting for leaks I should be doing?
