I guess we all know that a lawn needs watering, but I was still surprised by the results of this unintentional experiment: I put a sprinkler in the garden to keep my pots, baskets and beds alive when I was away for a week. A simple timer opened the water for 30 minutes twice a day (at 7am and 7pm). After 7 days, the part of the lawn that got the water had long, lush green grass.
