So this is my channelling issue I’m experiencing - more or less every shot I have pulled has same looking puck - with the smiley face looking indentation in the same spot every time.

Any ideas what’s going on here? I’m dosing 16g into the stock basket - have tried WDT - no WDT etc - doesn’t seem to matter. Different grind sizes - pressure releases - the water is shooting through that spot every time.

Would you try pure manual and see. It may not matter, am just curious!

You also have similar issues on two corners, unless they are shadows.

I am seeing some impressions around the edges. Please check if the shower screen is fixed properly.

Looks fine - I haven’t taken it off to inspect yet though

Isn’t the way the puck looks caused by releasing at the end of the shot? My pucks look similar sometimes but taste great and not messy at all…

Undo the screw see if the channel lines up with the hole behind it.

So yeah, the channel is lining up with the hole behind the shower screen. As soon as pre infusion starts coffee is coming out from that point in the portafilter - it’s very obvious channelling.
I just ran a shot on manual and let it run all the way through with no intervention - same result.

Take a photo for me with the shower screen removed! If it’s what I think, I can report the issue to ACS

Did you get the stock sleeve and screen supplied? If so switch it out to that and the issue will go away.

OBS you loose the slow lever catch should you ever have to need it. But just practice good lever control

Cuprajake Yeah they supplied it, I have already asked them for assistance in swapping over - hopefully it’s straight forward enough.

I had asked them to swap it over while they were still testing my machine, but they ignored my request.

So this on top of the cosmetic issues I have is leading to a fair bit of frustration - I can certainly understand what you went through a few weeks ago.

Ando Hole looks about right, perhaps it’s not straight or something is caught in it making it jet to the side?

It does need to be a near the screw hole as possible so it lines up with the solid metal part on the shower screen, perhaps that one is a fraction too far….difficult to tell. I think they need to test this specifically at the factory to see it’s not jetting out the shower screen!

Group off. Push from the bottom and pull out. Put new one in. Bolts back in job done

HarveyMushman I probably shouldn’t have mentioned this on a public forum. I have highlighted my issues to ACS, and will hopefully sort out. Minor stuff - and as I say, all cosmetic. Just frustrating given the high price.
The one thing I will say on a more positive note - the photos you see of this machine don’t do it justice. It’s absolutely stunning.

DavecUK I’m assuming that bit is unique to the safety feature - so remove the safety feature and send back to Italy?

Water jetting straight through is what I am fairly sure is happening - can see it on shot mirror as soon as I start the shot.

Given that these are beyond my technical skills, I was thinking wouldn’t 3 to 4 pin holes dispersed around the screw hole lined up with the solid metal of the shower screen better than 1? Thx
