Ando
Ando and all the while there are people well established within this forum who I suspect have known exactly what is wrong with my machine and have, in my opinion, tried to cover it up - trying to take advantage of my lack of mechanical knowledge and ability. They have spent more time trying to protect the ACS brand rather than help me.
You are passing opinions on others on this forum which are not nice and have not happened, as you say, it is your opinion (and I think one other member). The comments you are making would have been stopped on any other forum a long time ago. Here you have been allowed to express your “opinions”, interspersed with facts .
You effectively accused me of lying when I said that what Paolo talked about steel having a good and bad side but it’s true (I posted photos of other makes). Also about the the low water system not being a fault but by design, again you disagree and think I am lying. I don’t take this well as I have spent the last 20 years trying to help people with coffee, not line my own pockets!
I checked it to ensure I was correct when the machine detects low water, it waits 60s before flashing up the alarm and blanking the screen. As the system can only detect water is low, when it actually is e.g. pulling water from the tank by starting the espresso making process (moving the lever). That 60s was considered long enough for the shot to complete before the alarm lights up. The only reason I saw it once, was when I flushed the group into the cup to warm the cup….then made the shot. . So when I said it was by design, I wasn’t lying, I just don’t agree with that design decision.
Ando They have spent more time trying to protect the ACS brand rather than help me.
This again is not true and people have been trying to help you. However, your continual posts of issues, including those with the forum and it’s members responses, or lack of, can make people reluctant to get involved.
Ando The safety sleeve I had to remove was a serious struggle to remove - way way way harder than ACS video made out. It is covered an inch thick in lube all over
No, not 1 inch thick, there is not one inch of space….there. Was it over lubricated? Possibly, but that’s feedback to the factory to see what they say first. It may be a worker issue, it might be for a specific reason…you don’t know. Exaggeration helps no one…and this forum is not party to any technical issues to explain this, especially on a completely new safety system.
“Ando”#p63078 Nobody has commented on the video that was requested - before doing so I was being made out to be overreacting, it’s impossible for that to happen, don’t be ridiculous - well it is a problem isn’t it!? I wasn’t overreacting was I!?
This is for the lever click isn’t it…My initial reaction was this is rare, and I wanted to see a video (not that you were lying) I was also surprised when you said ACS was sending out a complete group, as that’s a lot of work for you to change (as you would only need the top piece)! I watched the video last night and can clearly hear the click, so TOF must have supplied the group with broken roller pins. I have recommended to ACS because this has happened a second time in 3 years…it’s something they should check carefully. I now somewhat regret taking time out of my life to watch it.
Ando I’m not going to add anything to this until it’s resolved - and I’m unlikely to find any more faults as I’m away today for weekend and weekend have turned machine off and have no intention of using it again.
I don’t think people are really going to be interested in any new issues much longer. Simply because, you’re not asking for help, helping others, or starting an interesting conversation, which is what the forum is for. What you appear to doing is trying to damage the ACS business? I don’t believe people are particularly interested in participating in that.
You stated you asked for a refund just before the weekend, perhaps wait for the outcome of that before posting any more.
Ando Let me leave with this thought though - if this was happening to me with another popular lever machine brand (*coughs, pinned threads) - do we think the tone and response on this thread would have been the same, or very different? 🤔
Your thinking of the Londinum thread here….tread carefully, very carefully. There’s a lot more to that one than meets the eye and far more than you will ever know.
You have been allowed to freely express your opinions on this forum about your machine, the membership and the forum itself, nothing has been removed, edited or altered. I would strongly suggest you take a pause for reflection before posting again
