This is worth a look for anyone wanting Zerno-like features for less than half the price.

It’s unlikely to have the quality of engineering of the Zerno but it does feature variable RPM, SSP burr compatable, plasma generator to reduce static, stepless adjustment, augur for pre-grinding, 400w BLDC motor (no idea, above my pay grade, calling @DavecUK ), built in scale and tool free disassembly. Not too shabby.

(Yes I know, I know, hyped up marketing etc. Look past it if you can, no need to bang that old drum again.)

And a review follows that raises a valid concern about the grind range as the espressso end.

Note that Gevi has since made the dial stepless.

Getting a bit more serious now.

Gevi just announced a list of upgrades, in response to reviews from influencers and others.

Have to say I was 50/50 about this grinder but backed it anyway just so I could have a play.

These upgrades are impressive and have me more enthusiastic about the Grindmaster, most especially the increased ranges at the espresso end of the dial.

    TLDR summary in this chart

    Or search “Grindmaster” on www.Indiegogo.com

So does it get more revolutions of adjustment on the grind setting dial?

I’m pretty sure I have seem a grinder very very similar to this design on china taobao website. Not 100% sure this is genuine a ‘new’ product. Maybe something like a timemore using the platform for promotion?

Hayhayc yes they seem to have floated around on several Chinese sites for a few months under a different brand name. No idea if they were originally Gevis but white labelled or the other way around. From memory they were quite pricey.

      Hayhayc

Yes they r available from China. One of the names that were used was Barsetto, if I recall rightly.

        Chinglish strikes again.

What better thing to do with visiting friends than to throw them into the grinder and have them for coffee LOL

Impressed that Gevi keeps updating their offer.

Latest is that the warranty is extended to cover burr swapping. Essentially, it says that the warranty is not voided unless the new burr caused the issue. Fair enough.

To me this Is a sensible approach and hopefully others such as Timemore and Niche will follow.

Major Warranty Update | Video Demo on Upgraded Version!
          Hi friends,

Major Update on Warranty About Burr Swapping!

Great news! After collecting feedback from both our dedicated user community and reputable reviewers, and through relentless internal efforts, we have made a momentous decision to fulfill everyone’s wishes by implementing a second round of upgrades to our warranty policy.

As we mentioned previously, burr swapping requires certain techniques and experience. Instances where grinders fail to function properly due to user-attempted burr swapping do exist. Consequently, many grinder companies include a clause in their warranty policy stating that self-attempts to swap burrs will render the warranty invalid.

However, fueled by your passion and unwavering support, we are thrilled to announce that we are making a difference. We understand the coffee lovers’ desire for greater customization and experimentation, and we are proud to inform you that we have revised our warranty policy to cater to your needs. This is a groundbreaking moment for us, as we prioritize your satisfaction above all else.

Here’s the exciting update to our warranty policy:

The warranty does not cover any damage or malfunction resulting from burr swapping, such as screw missing or stripped, burr damage, calibration issues, etc. However, defects in other parts unrelated to burr replacement and adjustment will still be covered by the warranty.

That being said, even if issues arise concurrently from burr replacement and other factors, we will address each problem separately. For instance, if replacing the burr on your own results in a machine calibration problem, and simultaneously, there is a malfunction in the electronic scale, we will not cover the calibration issue under warranty. However, we will still provide warranty service for the malfunction in the electronic scale.

Hope this policy update gives you peace of mind when choosing GrindMaster.
