Have had four of five over the years - none lasted that long so now use a stove gooseneck.

Why don’t electric gooseneck kettles last as long as conventional kettles? It’s not as if they are cheaper - if you want a Stagg, you will be pay well over £150.00.

I have been lucky then, haven’t had a stagg break in 3 years and we have maybe 3 or 4 of them in pretty regular or even commercial use

My Hario Buono electric kettle is still going strong from Oct 2016.

Mine were Bonavita and Brewista. Weren’t subjected to heavy use - mainly once a day. All developed electrical problems which rendered them useless.

My only complaint about the Hario Buono is that it didn’t ship (from Hario UK) with a UK plug, nor an adaptor, so I’d check that you at least receive an adaptor if ordering.

Another minor gripe is that the lid and, therefore the steam holes, can locate in any orientation, so you soon learn to remember to keep them spout side

My Stagg I’ve had a while and it was second hand so don’t know exactly how old it is and I use it at least four times a week and it never misses a beat.

I guess like many electrical products it seems to be pot luck on how long they last. We also have a normal temp control Bosch kettle that we have had and used every day for about five years and it still works a treat. Apart form de-scaling every now and then no other issues.

Agree - but in my case to go through a few in a relatively short period of time is a downer. Not as if I abused them i.e. let them boil dry. Where we used to live our house and a few others was served by a transformer a few meters from the house. When I did a bit of bean roasting, I noticed that the voltage was around 250 volts. I’m no electrics expert but I wonder if this had something to do with brew kettles not lasting that long.

Right well I’ve got a Brewista Artisan 5 years boom, think thermal fuse has gone, will fix but I do have little pournover jug from amazon, smashed all my Chemex as well gutted.

      I’m typically 245VAC.

I’d been constantly worried the Control Freak would last longer than my defunct electric goosenecks.

On a positive note, Mrs Systemic has upcycled the last one to die into a bespoke watering can for her orchids.
