Am I going bonkers or am I right that in the way beans for espresso need resting, beans for brewed coffee do not?
Beans for brewed coffee
Depends who you ask.
I tend to tuck into filter roasted beans as soon as they arrive. Any that need substantially longer get struck off the wish list.

Not sure about commercially roasted beans but I’ve tried a roast within hours of roasting and can confirm they definitely benefit from some resting.
Unless you enjoy the taste of boiled grass I’d recommend giving it at least a couple of days!
3-5 days after roasting and it’s certainly enjoyable by that point.

For decaf, I’d say atleast 4 days. Though I typically rest the beans for 1 week after the roast date.
