Bought this earlier in the year to scratch an itch. Roasted approx. 2kg with it, but realised (again) coffee roasting is not a hobby for me. This roaster is in great condition, almost as new as it does have some minor inevitable scuff marks on the inside due to the chaff tray and roasting drum coming in and out. Cleaned according to the manual. The stains in the chaff tray seem to be baked coffee oils. Prefer collection from Thatcham, Berks, and I’m happy to do a roast with the new owner just to make sure everything is working as expected. Or from Oxford (or somewhere else within 30 miles we could agree upon) but without any demos. I have all the original packaging. At this stage I’d prefer not to post. I’ll provide 500g of greens too. Doram’s one, similar age to mine, had a heating element failure the other day. As Doram and I have been chatting offline now for a long, long while now, it was a perfect case to send the Gene to a home where it would be used and appreciated a lot more than here. So I sold it to him for whatever it costed me to repair it - inline with the community spirit. £199 - After a long thought over the Christmas period, and haven’t used this roaster pretty much since I did this advert, I’ve decided to re-list it with a price reduction. Oh, this is so tempting. Do you mind me asking why you’ve decided to sell? What is your experience of roasting with this machine? Is it doable inside or is it still quite smoky? If I were to buy this, I have relatives near Marlborough, so would you be willing to hold on to this until I next visit? Would definitely like a walk through of the process. I would obviously transfer the money through if sale is agreed.

Haven’t had chance to try a roast yet. The weather today would be perfect but it’s my daughter’s birthday this weekend so we’re busy. As you found, time is probably going to be a major factor in using the roaster!!

I’ve almost finished a bag of dark peak, so the beans we roasted will be started in the next day or so. Looking forward to trying them. I’ll let you know.
