Isn’t this the same as the failed kick-starter project?
Isn’t this the same as the failed kick-starter project?
Certainly looks like it
Doesn’t look like they have made changes based on their initial attempt. A pointless video.
It looks like what could happen if you left a randy Decent near an unattended Elizabeth overnight.
He doesn’t mention the price in this video but it’s not as cheap as one may expect from its build - was quite shocked to find out it would likely end up close to the price of a Bianca when you factor in the preorder discount, shipping and customs to the UK.
Looks to the cynical old me, that they are desperate to get to the market. They have a review done by a Youtube nobody who glosses over any of the technical points in favour of 304 steel and being excited about a steam knob. Is this worth £1800……..I do not see a queue forming though no doubt I will be proved wrong……the icing on the cake for me would be a Lance Hendricks review!
What’s the story of the failed kickstarter? A Decent competitor seems like a good thing to me.
Looks wise, like one of the smaller Lelits… Kate, maybe?
hthec What’s the story of the failed kickstarter? A Decent competitor seems like a good thing to me.
They are the same people (two Spanish brothers) who failed to secure funding via kickstarter. It’s the same machine.
The whole trajectory is somewhat documented here:

dfk41 Is this worth £1800
Prices quoted are in Euros, not Pound Sterling. It’s €1,800 and €1,600 for pre-orders, which translates to approx. £1,370.
Not really a “looker” imo. I dunno, looks a bit cheap for a higher endish price? After cusoms to the UK etc. price is above £1500. Either way I would not go for this anyway even if it was less money due to its aesthetics.
Beverast price is above £1500
You are right! Looks like the price quoted is exclusive of taxes!
To the UK (excluding customs charges which will have to be paid afterwards when it enters the UK) - EUR 1,651
To Italy (no customs) - EUR 2,007!
So most likely the machine will cost £1,700 delivered to the UK, or maybe more!
MediumRoastSteam By the time you have added customs clearance fees and VAT, the price will be about £1730. I am not sure at that price they will get much of a foothold in the market. It is a very strong price, plus I don’t believe the tablet is included? It’s also the “discounted price”.
Also the issues of software and it being kept up to date for later versions of Android and IOS should the company cease trading.
I wish them every success, but I suspect they are going in a bit strong with a very new product based on what looks like a basic machine with some software and a little hardware added..
P.S. I would have liked to see the guy in the video using a scace II or similar to check temps.
At that price, why would anyone buy a basic machine? Their selling feature is the software. If that’s the most important feature for me, I would rather save and get a Decent. Otherwise, some might be tempted to do what @hornbyben did here
LMSC I agree that I struggle to see their target audience. It’s still a reasonable gap to the decent though, the cheapest model available at the minute is £2971.
I’m not sure their pricing is miles off though. Given it cost me around £1k to do similar to mine, and that’s without a tablet, no charge for labour and before component prices went up by a significant amount. I obviously didn’t need to make a profit to cover overheads and create a sustainable business.
I suspect the prices they’re showing are what they need to charge to stand a chance of it being a success. The problem they have though is that it is still a lot of money, and for that much you have high expectations. Personally I think the machine looks quite ugly and cheap, whereas I find the Silvia’s looks industrial and classic (beauty is in the eye of the beholder though).
I struggle to see a scenario where that would fit my needs for that price.

That’s not right al all the cheapest machine is £3423.85
What’s £400 when you spend £3k hey… ;-)
You just need to buy it when you’re doing a house project, and then everything else feels cheap 🤣
I think it does a lot of things right and you probably get what a Decent gets you for a fraction of price. I don’t think it competes with Bianca, what does Bianca know to do aside looking shiny?!
I think a problem is that it seems a very boring product, they just mixed designs from Lelit and Rancilio and internals from Decent🤷. If they would have put some original things on the table (especially the design) we were talking different things now.
But maybe the small price would make it something similar with DF64.
Petre and internals from Decent
It might make it somewhat similar to a Decent, but I don’t think the technology used is anywhere close!
For instance, A Decent machine does not have boilers :-)
MediumRoastSteam true, this one has boiler. But I remeber that guy in video said that is mixing the hot and cold water to get the temp and I have not heard anything else than Decent to do that.
This guy’s design is the goat.. The only one I know that pours from half a meter hight. Salt bae style.
Why did he put music over the extraction?🤔
Decent De1pro v1.45 - Niche Duo - Niche Zero - Decent is the best machine ever made -
Cuprajake I wondered the same….in a review I try never to do that, unless I’m pissing about and making a joke of slo mo pours and music.
I think preorder price has been updated. Now €950
Lot to spend on an untested new machine

Cuprajake - and that’s a 40% discount from the original price of… €1,600!
Yeah at £1600 I’m buying a Bianca haha

MediumRoastSteam If I were a bit cynical, that’d be telling me: we’re trying to cut losses, and at least get rid of the unsold inventory of parts.
But I’m not a cynicist. Best of luck to them, in any case.
CoyoteOldMan Standard marketing, have a discount on a price they came up with, on a product not yet on sale.
Always great to see a new machine from a new entrant, but it’s much harder now and money a lot tighter. Many people will want an established company with backup and parts that are more generic and easily obtained.
Me? cynical? Never…. 🤣
Also, I tried to go through the order flow on their website. Except there’s no way to order one? As in, there’s no “buy” or “order” button?
MediumRoastSteam I think it’s because
🤦♂️
It’s a factory Chinese machine from Alibaba with some parts and software. Might actually be decent, no pun intended, but it’s a big risk to take.
