Bean guide - all roasters in one place
If you haven’t, you may look at Horsham, Foundry, Dark Arts, Origin, Long & Short, Triple co
Good suggestions. Not tried any of them

Crankhouse from Exeter are really nice people and produce some awesome coffee too!
Rave are my go to big roaster.
I also used to get some from Roastworks but they keep pushing those stupid pollution pods (Nespresso) and I morally hate those things.
Yeah used crafthouse and crankhouse before.
My go to has been north star.

I’ve been keeping the following for a while. As you can see, most of my coffee has come through Dog and Hat, but I’ve noted the original roaster and then use this to trawl go direct to roasters for a top up. I have a tendency to mark highly because I tend to go for beans I know I’ll like, so it’s rare I come across something I really dislike. If you see Aeropress then it usually means the Rocket was out of action, like it is again right now :-(

LMSC I tend to think that info on the specifics of someone’s gear (e.g. grinder settings) interfere with data on the roaster themselves. Maybe it would be more informative to have a score at the end of the bag for ‘representative of notes’, ‘roast level’, ‘taste score’ (all out of 5), then ‘price per 100g’.
If each roaster had their own tab it would make for better comparison?
A file for filter &, a file for espresso?
Getting too specific about beans origins doesn’t seem that useful as some are only around for a few weeks anyway.
Inputs that are less specific, with few fields, will make it easier for anyone to contribute.

MWJB Thanks for the comments. Very useful indeed. Removing the bias in score is important as there are too many parameters influence the outcome.
I think your suggestions would help address the bias to some extent as the scores can still be based on common categories we have identified here , but base it purely on roaster’s description removing the subjectivity. The taste score can then factor one’s own preferences.
Let me review, update and post new files.
Yeah it’s very good

https://coffeetime.freeflarum.com/d/451-tasting-tour-home-edition/13 I also did this, but my tasting was done solely on single origins and aeropress/v60 brew method.
Also that list is probably double that size now but with cost of living etc I have massively pulled back since my 3 bags a week days.
so pulled the cast iron don pacho a bit longer, 17g to 42g out and it mellowed the proseco a bit and added some sweetness

I need to order some beans - light / medium light both for filters and espressos. The beans also need to cut well with milk as a flat white. Any recommendations please?
I am looking at
- Foundry’s Guatemala,
- Crankhouse’s Shoondhisa and Mio Estate
- Not sure about Darkarts Roadrash. The lady on the phone said mainly it is for filter, isn’t sure about milk. She asked the roaster, who said busy and can’t answer! 🙄
I’ve had the shoondhisa. Was quite mellow, I liked it as a black coffee.
Prob wouldn’t cut well in milk

Thank you Jake! I mostly drink black, but prefer a cup of flat white with break fast! :-)
Has anyone tried Kiss the Hippo Ethiopian?
