Thank you for your email.

Yes, indeed there is a powder on them, that is cinnamon.

We have Guji Grade 1 and Guji Grade 1 with a hint of cinnamon, and by looking at your most recent order I can see the second one was selected on this occasion.

This is very popular among customers, so we would recommend giving it a try as it makes for a lovely cup :).

So they decided to send me a cinnamon coated beans even though this wasn’t my order! Funnily enough how did I not pick up on it?! They had a real spicy aroma but that’s what roasters description was so thought it’s a good match…

Also wondering about the grinder as cinnamon fines will be stuck all over it so most likely clean required.

I enjoyed coffee and service from them previously but having doubts on placing more orders now.

    prezes a hint of cinnamon,

We often see this as a part of tasting notes. At least, I haven’t heard of cinnamon quoted coffee beans! We never stop learning, do we?

innovations all the way as sky is the limit!

prezes having doubts on placing more orders now.

I wouldn’t be happy and will have similar doubts, unless I had ordered it in error.

So yeah there are two different Guji grade 1 Ethiopian beans on their website and one is cinnamon added. If this is not the one you ordered ask for a replacement.

I’ve never heard of sprinkling cinnamon on beans…how did they taste?

P.S. surprised the smell didn’t hit you straight out of the bag, must have been a super light dusting?

Just triple checked my order and definitely not ordered cinnamon lol !

Emailed them and asked for replacement or refund.

@DavecUK you get clear cinnamon taste in the coffee which is quite pleasant with this coffee to be fair. I do have my doubts in sprinkling cinnamon into coffee before grinding !

prezes My personal view would be, if you want cinnamon, sprinkle a bit in. I used to, might still have, a chocolate mint (plant)….I used to simply drop a leaf in the hot coffee and let it infuse.

CoyoteOldMan I’m confused. I thought the coffee was Ethiopian, not Brasilian?

That’s two of us! What does a Brazilian Covid-19 advert has to do with coffee?

        It reads:

“Summer without Covid. Look after your own. Do not share utensils for personal use”. (e.g.: forks, skewers , etc)

        Now the jokey part:

@LMSC - I think you need to improve upon your Portuguese. I might be able to help. 🤣🤣🤣

On the Cinnamon dusted coffee… That’s a roaster to avoid. Surely if I want cinnamon dusted on my coffee beans I can just do so myself?

Can you imagine what a Guatemalan Mocha would be like? Would they dust it with Cadbury’s instant chocolate powder? 😬

        I’m gobsmacked.

MediumRoastSteam Can you imagine what a Guatemalan Mocha would be like? Would they dust it with Cadbury’s instant chocolate powder

Just think of the possibilities - the sky is the limit with all the new tasting notes we can have! ;-)

MediumRoastSteam CoyoteOldMan Jeez! Nothing to do with the origin of coffee. It’s a simple response jovial response re-not picking up the cinnamon dust flavour : unless it’s very lightly dusted or have Covid. 😳🤣

Btw, you can teach me when we get a chance to meet for a cup of coffee at my place! 😊

Anyways, let me stop here as we deviating from the intent of the thread! Have a good day every one.
