Nope. I can’t tell completely, but if I get an email notifying me of a post, and click there to bring it up in the browser, no quote reply buttons. I will check and see if they appear when I just go straight to the post.
Random issues on forum (no Like/Quote/Reply/photos) - is it just me?
DavecUK OK, notice on this post your reply handle shows up. I went into the post from a fresh browser window and navigated to the post. I think it doesn’t work either when I go to the notification bell at the top of the browser window and find the post that way. So it requires a fresh browser window and navigation to the post that way I think. Well, waddya want for free?? The thing works really well frankly. I like it!

I always use my iPhone and do not open a tab or a new window. I open a thread and when done, prefer hitting the home button. A lot of times, this home button won’t be there. When the home button disappears, the back button or a refresh won’t take me to the home page. I will have to kill the browser and start all over again.
Because of the above issues — mainly disappearing home page or the menu at the bottom of my iPhone screen— the like, reply and hence @user name would have also disappeared.
Another strange thing is it would also time out (logged out) and we end up losing what we type. This just happened as I type.
Lol. It is now saying I am typing too fast for it to cope. 🤣
Killing the browser, clearing the cache and starting all over again helps. It is not convenient but that’s a work around at least for me.
These are not a one-off but occurs regularly. I do think they need to investigate this. Thx
I did have quite a few issues especially with the dreaded red ‘Oops’ banner popping up every page refresh but all seems stable now, and yes it does seem faster too.

I can’t say where the issue is coming from, but I have now learned how to use the forum so it doesn’t bother me anymore. As @dndrich mentioned, if pressing a link in an email notification, or opening a new tab, or sometimes without doing anything naughty - the standard features (reply to, quote, like, uploading photos etc.) would not be there, or the “ooops” message would appear. But now I know not to mess about - all I need to do to sort things out is close the tab where the forum is opened and open it again - and the issues are gone (for me, at least).
The problem, I think, is for new people. Until you figure out how it works here, know you can’t open a message in a new tab, and understand that whenever you see a problem you just leave the forum and come back - you might struggle and think the forum is broken. Not a problem once you know, but can be off putting until then.

Just noticed in the past couple of days the press or paste to upload doesn’t work any more for me. When I click on the tab which automatically opens up Pictures file on my laptop then I go to a photo and double click on it, instead of appearing as it always has done in my text box, all that happens is a red cross pops up and the word ‘error’ in the picture tab for a second.
It doesn’t allow me to change my Signature. I go to “Save changes” and it just reverts back to the old Signature. On Android - Samsung browser.
drdre89 very odd…the mobile interface is slightly different though….,but you are right….massive bug, I will report it.

MediumRoastSteam Would it be better to have the avatar of the member who last replied rather than the OP? I tend to focus highly on the avatar, and this confuses me a bit when I read the reply and then realise it was not from the member I thought it was. So, on that thread with the arrows, personally, it would be better if it had my avatar (because I replied last) and mention “started by Doram X days ago, MediumRoastSteam replied one hour ago” or something like that.
I had not forgotten this and loaded a new extension, now you can clearly see the Avatar of the last person who replied more clearly and I hope, a clearer post layout/demarcation.

Same behaviour on Chrome, Safari (MacOS) and Safari on iOS.
I’ve also tweaked the main page synopsis, you can see some images in there as well now, if they form the initial/only part of the post….This will also help any classifieds listing be more prominent as they usually start with a photo!
Hmm. The older interface was better on Mac Safari. Now the avatar covers the post title to some degree. Also, now there is some news feed at the top!
Mobile Safari:
I was playing with RSS feeds, I’ve disabled them again. I like the theme but the last avatar extension puts a big avatar there, inbstead of a littole one on the std theme…which is a real shame. Reverting back to the old theme and small last poster avatar.
It did, but the rest of the issues made it unusable, unless I disable the last posted avatar display.
I have been busy trying out an extension which I believe can help a few tag areas…classifieds is one. …and there is one other area where it might be useful. I’m just hoping the slow performance is maintenance based and not because of the extension I loaded!
Sadly every time I enable the discussion card extension, it causes real forum problems. A pity because it brought the classifieds to life with images and text in the post listings….without having to go into each post….real shame, I would have also used it in the what was delivered today thread 😢
