  • ACS Vesuvius Evo Leva LSM group piston seal tool and dosing funnels.

This is a special tool for unscrewing the piston on the 50mm cylinder LSM groups when changing or adjusting the seals. The four prongs on the tool engage in the four recesses on the piston surface. The seals can be changed in-situ or it is recommended that the first time it is used that the top of the group is removed and the procedure carried out on the bench, this is because the piston may be tight on the stud and the whole piston assembly may unscrew. These tools are primarily aimed at owners of the new ACS Vesuvius Evo Leva machine, they have all been tested for fit on my machine. They should fit LSM groups fitted to other machines. I have no way of knowing if they will stand up to unscrewing a really stuck seized piston that has not been unscrewed for some time. If the piston is really stuck, the prongs can be strengthened by inserting 2mm x 14mm spring/roll pins into the larger pins.

In addition, the tool is long enough to be used to push out the shower screen by inserting it through the top of the cylinder (remove circlip/snap ring first!). The end of the tool is square to the length so the shower screen is pressed out evenly so there is less chance of distorting it.

The tools cost £35 plus £5 postage in the UK, post to other parts of the world at a little above cost.

I can also provide a dosing ring with the seal tool, sized to fit the 54mm LSM standard basket, cost is an additional £27 (the extra insurance bumps up the postage).

Payment by Paypal friends and family please, or pay the extra Paypal charge. If you don’t have a Paypal account please contact me first as I understand that if I send you an invitation link, we both get about £10 reward.

@Norvin hi, are you still making the tool and dosing ring?

Can’t see a way to contact you directly but I’m after the tool and a tall dosing ring for the IMS basket (B662TH32M).

Hi. Yes, i can still make them and have a couple here ready to go.

I’ll look into setting up a disposable email address but meanwhile I can be contacted by pm on HB or the old site (same username).

Yeah, I suggested this type of tool right back at the beginning when Evo was launched

Norvins tool is nicer (I have to be careful how I phrase that) and will go up the bore….with this tool you have to remove 4 bolts..but no biggie.

i have these tools at work, does anyone know the distance betwen prongs?

Having sold all of the tools from the last batch and receiving no more enquiries I have decided not to make any more.

So thank you to all those who have bought one, I would still like to hear from anyone who has used one of these tools to free a really stuck piston.
