Can anyone recommend a good 58mm magnetic dosing funnel? I have a ‘standard’ non-magnetic 30mm or so tall aluminium jobbie which does what it is supposed to, but rattles whilst on the top of the portafilter when grinding (on a Niche Zero). If anyone has any suggestions for other options that aren’t too pricy I’d be very grateful.

I like the idea of the tall Decent funnel as it would fit perfectly on the Niche, but it’s so expensive!

Likewise if there are any which are weighty enough not to rattle about that might also work.

Cheers!

Decent De1pro v1.45 - Niche Duo - Niche Zero - Decent is the best machine ever made -

If you have a mate with a drill press you can buy rare earth magnets for a few bob each and install them yourself in your current funnel.

Best is SWORKS as magnets are inside and no edges to attract grinds. But definitely pricey.

I have a short Normcore one I’m selling but they don’t stick quite as well as SWORKS but assume it’s better than no magnets.

Sworks recommendation here as well, it is pricey but very good. I would probably get the short one so it fits under the niche easier

Oh wow thanks for all the replies - you guys are the best! I have had a look at the Sworks funnel, it looks amazing. I really liked the suggestion of the cheap one from eBay too, which definitely fulfilled the brief of being cheap and magnetic!

I’m hoping this is going to be something I buy once and use forever, so is probably worth spending a bit more now on the Sworks funnel.

Thanks everyone!

EDIT - Uncletits you have the best username. So much so that I am now looking at Normcore funnels too despite them not having an executive silicone band-thing.

JammyDodger I’ve been looking at the sworks stuff too. It looks amazing. Quite expensive by the time you’ve paid shipping as well though.

I also have the Normcore V4 magnetic funnel and it works really well.
      c. £19 which I thought was fair value for good quality construction

Just had a look at the Sworks website, great quality but…blimey it aint cheap!

I see they do a spring loaded portafilter holder set for the Niche at $225 not including shipping… Oh, that’s the black anodised one, if you want it silver it’ll cost an extra $20. Hmm… for the few seconds it takes to grind 18g of beans I’ll give that a miss and grind into the cup provided as usual or just hold the portafilter under the spout.

I see Normcore’s magnetic 58mm funnel On Amazon UK is £29.99 with free delivery.

Ah bums I stupidly hadn’t thought about shopping and duty… back to the Normcore!

JammyDodger It is great but just an anagram - Forced to change it on a couple of other forums even though the reason behind it is justified

JammyDodger don’t recall paying duty but yeah shipping hurts. Make it better by adding in the wdt tool. Also significant improvement in anything you’ve used

tompoland Yes, although it seemed to work on my VST, Pullman and ECM original.

I didn’t really care about the magnetism, as I don’t generally tip my portafilter when using it, but was surprised at how strong it gripped, given the reviews.
