Leaking around top of grouphead - gasket?
jcb1973 You need to take the top off and look inside before making any assumptions.
jcb1973 |not sure, I can’t see anything obvious up top, so perhaps it is leaking at that lower gasket?
From the first photo, it appears to show a cork gasket to the side but an ‘O’ ring to the front.
It does not show a seal / gasket for the joint on M752-1 ???
Elcarajillo that’s just a misleading camera capture - there’s no gasket there, you see the brass (that looks like cork). My suspicion is that the leak is coming from higher up.
Just capturing information that may be useful for someone facing this issue in the future - Lelit support have told me that Loxeal is not needed on the gasket.

Loxeal might well make things worse. I should be a Viton compression gasket. I’ve not seen one, but presumably it will be o ring style.
jcb1973 There’s a very confident sounding post on Reddit saying “you need Loxeal”!!!
Trouble is that it’s a very specific use application for Loxeal, it’s a thread sealant and not for sealing gaskets…which shouldn’t require anything really. Need to be very careful of confident people on reddit.

BE VERY CAREFUL OF CONFIDENT PEOPLE ON REDDIT would be a lovely t-shirt
100% agree
Just to confirm that changing the MC752-7 seal solved this leak.

excellent news, did you take any photos of the procedure…although it’s not a problem I have heard of before, I am sure people would find the fix interesting. Especially if they have the same problem.
I did take some pictures, but even better than my amateur efforts there is a good video from Lelit on removing the brew boiler, I followed the steps here:
It was extremely helpful to mark the connections to the boiler to make reassembly easy - that was the best tip from that video. e.g.
I also put a sticker over the power switch, marked “RESET” to make sure I remembered to reset after the procedure (don’t burn out the heating element).
Glad you fixed it. How old was the machine and was scaling present at all inside the boiler?
What about the part where the heating element is? What does that look like?
