DavecUK Hello Dave, I was not able to do a video but based on my observation this morning without the top lid:

1. I did not heard any weird sound or gurgling sound from the steam boiler during warm up but there were a few or weak drops of water going through the tube to the water tank, but after steam boiler had reached its temperature it stopped. Please see the picture where the tube is connected going to the water tank:

   

2. After I turn off the machine there were no gurgling sound nor any water going back to the water tank from the same tube.

3. I am not sure what is happening but the machine was behaving normal this morning.

Kape17 but after steam boiler had reached its temperature it stopped.

This is how it works: it shuts once the boiler reaches around 100C, so you get a jet of steam (or water bubbles in your water tank) if that’s where it’s venting to.

Thank you MediumRoastSteam So this is normal including the water bubbles or sometimes gurgling sound in the water tank? I will still order that anti-vacuum valve from Fluid o tech (The black Thermostatic valve)
as a spare part. I contacted them and they said they have 2 pieces on stock.

Kape17 - I don’t have a Vesuvius so I can’t confirm.

But the vacuum breaker works as above: steam boiler reaches about 100C and steam comes out, for about 1 or 2 seconds. It should not vent any other time. It you are seeing the hose venting when the machine is fully warmed up, then you have a problem.

This is all I can say really. I’m not familiar with he V in particular, but this is the principle of that device.

Kape17 Sounds completely normal and your machine has the updated valves. The vacuum breaker uses memory metal. A few years after ACS, La Marzocco also started using this valve.

DavecUK Thank you! it is an expensive valve $100 from La Marzocco, but I can get it from Fluid O Tech for$ 42.00 includes shipping.

I was offered a 2022 Profitec 800 for $1500. What do you think is that a good deal? Thanks

Kape17 - Good price, given that’s often north of £2k. But… Is is that you want? (Dipper, huge boiler, huge machine)

Kape17 Sorry! wrong question. Of course it is a good deal but to rephrase my question, what is your opinion on this machine , temperature stability?

Hello all and greetings from the other side of the pond!

Joined recently after looking into a new Leva machine and you gents seem to be the spot! Funny enough it was Lance’s post that brought me here, 😅.

From California, currently have a Breville Duel Boiler, La Pavoni EuroP, and a DF64p… but ball is rolling on a pre-order for the Vostok 1 group.
