Just finished watching the 6 episodes of ‘The Responder’ with Martin Freeman on BBC. One of the best programmes on telly for ages. Freeman really showing his acting chops.

Just finished watching Hoffmann’s descent into insanity in his “Understanding the Moka Pot (episode 2)” video - a load of technical research into the Moka Pot, how it works and how to possibly get the best out of it. Found it quite entertaining, as I do with most of his videos.

I always get him and Simon Pegg mixed up….Hobbit and Star Trek. Two British actors who had massive success on the big screen

Forgot to say, on the urgings of @dfk41 I finally watched "Harry Brown! last night starring Michael Caine. I thought he had suckered me in to something with a deeply unsatisfying ending like Gran Torino….but no, a very enjoyable movie.

Freeman for me is one of our better actors. He can do comedy but also angst and even tough all very believable. He was great in Fargo too.

DavecUK interesting read. Makes you wonder what is going on in someone’s mind when they do something like this and being so cold hearted with it. I will have to be especially nice to the misses from now on.

I wonder if they will turn it into a movie….“The True Story of….”

Just started the 4th series of The Sinner on Netflix with Bill Pullman as a very troubled cop. Another really good series and Pullman plays the part really well.

Pompeyexile Another for my list. I stopped the TV licence, because there is so much to watch on NF, Amazon Prime. and YouTube that there is no need to spend that £159. I share NF and Prime so it ends up costing me only £108 per year

Watching season 6 of Ray Donovan currently. Only recently started watching it but am quite liking it up to this point.

        5 days later

MediumRoastSteam finished Lost in space through gritted teeth, every clichéd, woke, unrealistic Disneyesqe, sickening moment of the last 3 episodes.

Managed 15 mins before I gave up - kept telling myself with such a stellar cast, it would get better - it didn’t.

Been watching some excellent Turkish dramas - The Club is akin to Marvellous Mrs Maisel - set in the 1950s with a great period feel. 50M2 is a good film noir and just finished The Gift - Indianna Jones meets…. haven’t figured the second part our yet. Watching Russell Peters in the Indian Detective - Giri Haji meets Death in Paradise - witty fast moving.

On the advice of @dfk41 I have started watching “Reacher” on Prime Video…I was up until 3 am binge-watching it, marvellous. I think I am on episode 4. Highly recommended, especially if you like someone significantly larger than TC playing Jack Reacher.

My past favourites are :- (in no particular order)

Ted Lasso (looking forward to series 3)

          Detectorists - Boston Legal - Spooks - W1A

Films :- (in no particular order)

Leon - Up The Junction - Open Range - Once Upon A Time In America - LA Confidential etc’

& up to date, I tend to binge watch series as I dont like to wait a week for next episodes etc’

As for music - very varied :-

Beatles, Beach Boys, Traffic, Family, Vanilla Fudge, Motown, Stax & Atlantic, Dave Grusin (most GRP stuff)

Enigma, Doors, Paul Weller, Tom Petty etc’

          Radio - Caroline Flashback.

It seems my feet are firmly planted in the past - ex mod, hippie, Mecca dj & night clubber !

now, very retired and loving every minute of it……….

Just like me, except for the Hippie, Night Clubber bit. I could see what you were meant to do from the movie Saturday Night Fever, but thank god I never tried to do any of that stuff <lol>

Has anyone managed to watch 1883?

It’s the prequel to Yellowstone but apparently unavailable in the UK as yet. I’m a sucker for a Western theme and anything featuring Sam Elliott’s moustache.

Currently watching the US Office for the third time through and Parks and Recreation for the first time. Both brilliantly funny.

Vigil and Queen’s Gambit were very good. We are now watching Grace and Frankie - a comedy series produced by Marta Kauffman — Friends. The next on our list is Tinder Swindler.

Just started watching Brooklyn 99 a comedy cop programme. A bit hit and miss, and you can see the very funny and ground breaking Police Squad influence. I can’t make up my mind about the young lead guy in this one though… not as likeable and sometimes annoying, unlike Police Squad’s Leslie Nielsen aka Detective Frank Drebin who was brilliant because he seemed to play it straight rather than trying to be funny… but was.

Must have been very popular in the states as it ran for 8 seasons.

Started out as a straight actor…I remember him in The Forbidden Planet.
