I was fortunate some while back to get to play on a Slayer. Beautifully put together and a joy to use. My abiding memory is that it sounded like a V8 engine on tickover whilst in pre-infusion phase. Not many machines can do that.
Isn’t it really a commerical machine / doesn’t it have to be plumbed in ?
Looks amazing very much overkill for a couple of drinks a day 😂
Undecided between the Slayer and the Profitec Go. 🤪
Not quite that level of upsell but many moons ago while at university I worked in a guitar shop evenings/weekends.
Surprisingly regularly you’d get a customer (usually a wealthy middle-aged man/retiree) come in looking for his first guitar saying he wanted something for a beginner and leaving with a £2000 one.
With the demo unit and knowing how good BB staff are I bet they sell at least a couple of units to people who go in with every intention of buying a Silvia or something.

Single group Slayers are fairly common in the NW United States among high end home use. A controlling share was acquired a while back by Grupo Cimbali. This may mean wider distribution in European markets where it wont cannibalize other Cimbali brand sales. In the US that typically means highly custom home or cafe environments.
I’ve had some really nice shots from them in both commercial and non-commercial settings. But I think where they stand out now is the ridiculous customization they’ll do in-house.
For BB in makes sense to offer a product at the top end to make sure that if someone has the money, they have the opportunity to spend it.
Slayer machines in cafes have produced tbe best tasting shots I have tried so far other than those nade by lever machines. I certainly wouldn’t mind having one had I the space and more importantly the money for one.

I know someone who fits that bill to a tee….and had a Slayer and a KVW.
Let me fine that 12k
You do need to plumb them. If anybody is seriously interested in one and near Cumbria, I would suggest you come visit me and play around a little. It’s a fine machine and their support is good so I’m not going to trash it, but personally I disagree that the new machines are subject to amazing worksmanship/quality control. They make excellent coffee though easily which is a great thing if you’re not an expert barista.
I went to a donut shop and they were using a Slayer as their coffee machine. The coffee was terrible.
Most likely the mature aged barista behind the counter was contemplating his life choices of how he got there and where his life could be.
Donut shot with a Slayer - interesting combination.

Maybe he was Saul Goodman? 🤪
Can you survive without both kidneys?🤔

I remember in my youth, going out with a truly beautiful Jewish girl. Stunning…..when you went out men drooled over her……then I realised and understood.
Systemic I would not go quite as far as that
