LMSC you’ve done better than most.
MediumRoastSteam Yes! Until now. Will be looking at £250-£300 a month now. :-)
LMSC yep. Welcome to my world (and many ofhers’), sadly.
Whilst I was on a fixed I built up a credit of £690, but it will not last long
I hate to say it, but get used to it because the base line is now this and it ain’t going down again
The cost to the country from the failed Energy companies was in the region of 2.7 Billion pounds. There are around 28 million households, that’s not counting businesses. If the average daily standing charge increase is around 30 pence then the debt surely would be paid off by now. 28 × 30 divided by 100 gives £8400000. Divide £2700000000 by £8400000 this would be paid in 321 days. Am I missing something or again are we being taken for fools.
Meldrew are we being taken for fools.
This………and not just for energy, but for a huge number of things.
had oct price drop through, octopus are swollowing the standing charge price which stays the same, the units loose a few pence

Totally P/O with OVO energy, is Flexible Octopus the best going option ??
Elcarajillo Octopus do a Tracker deal Frank that tracks the wholesale prices on a daily basis. I switched onto it when my fix ended. They made me go on the standard tariff for two weeks then switched me over. I am very happy with it.
dutchy101 Once you have been on the standard tariff a couple of weeks, octopus let you apply for the trcker. The price tracks the wholesale market and can vary each day. I have found it to be a good deal at the moment and these are todays prices.
Yeah, I’ve gone for the variable. Saves me £60 a month based on current prices and no exit fees. If it goes down further then I’ll benefit.
Hard to think I’ll be saving £60 a month and still be paying almost double what I was a couple of years ago
As the government cannot decide if it is punched, bored , countersunk or just cross threaded, I took a management decision and had a new boiler fitted. The old one one running well but the plastic components inside were beginning to crack crack up (parts that support the control board and electronics) it was 17 Y/o.
Replaced with a Bosch 8000 Life /hydrogen ready-if it ever happens.
Just need to get my head around all the new settings/ computer controls😖😱 .
With the builders putting gas into new builds nearby I dont think gas is off the menu YET.🤣
Elcarajillo You want to look at the modern thermostats Frank, like Hive, Nest and the like.
