Hi there,
The ratio we usually use is 1:1.5 and the maximum is 1:2 depending on the type of coffee beans! Normally, depending on the size of the basket and the type of coffee beans, we use 16g -18.5. And we roast ourselves with different types of machines such as Santoker; SR540; M1 or self-made roasters!
The grinders are also different in our team: one of us has an R24 bought brand new from the UK and uses a Monolith Max 2, another also has an R24 and uses a Monolith Titan 75mm, I myself use a Mazzer SJ modded with a Daniel Wong single dose, another one uses an LR with a Ceado 37SD, the other two use L1 and in turn are DF64 modded with an SSP MP blade and the last one also uses a Mazzer SJ like me!
As for the pressure and temperature adjustment features, I think you all know well because there is a lot of information and a lot of debate about Londinium!
The reason we use Londinium is also very coincidental! There was a guy in the group love drinking coffee at home bought a brand new one from Reiss and we had the opportunity to taste espresso extracted from its LR24 and we were all convinced by its balance and flavor even though at that time we also had different machines to contemplate such as Rancilio Silvia V6, Strega, Gaggia Classic Pro, La Pavoni, Elektra, Zacconi Big Baby…! The design of the LR24 and its appearance also attracted us because of its masculinity and simplicity because our team likes simplicity! By the way, with the Spring Lever machines in the same segment as the LR24, I admit that Nurri Leva S.A has the most attractive design but we don’t like its 54mm grouphead, and the founder is also from ACS, so with the experiences we have had on the ACS Vesuvius, we don’t focus on Nurri! We don’t criticize Nurri because we haven’t experienced it yet, so our opinions may change!
Thank God, our team’s first Lr24 has been used for 5 years, mine for more than 4 years, LR for 6-7 years or so, and the 2 L1s have been used by several owners for about 10 years now and have not had any major problems except for 1 NRV leaking due to calcium deposits stuck in it and it was easily fixed! We find that used Londinium is also very difficult to buy and is often sold very quickly when it appears on coffee forums or eBay (but very rarely) so it is understandable that Londinium also has its own customer group like other brands, right?
With the desire to share and have more multi-dimensional information, we are not seeders for Reiss or anyone else! In fact, we have and are using several Londinium machines of different generations, so we say it like that! We are also eagerly waiting for the Vectis to arrive and hope it is as good as we want it to be and will have our initial review on it soon!
Nice day!
