My go to roasters, in no particular order.

Django, Rave, Black Cat, Foundry, Strangers, Curve, Crankhouse, Kiss the Hippo. Mrs brings home a kilo of Soul Blend crowd pleaser from Crazy Goat because she speaks to the guy regularly at work, it’s the only one I’ve tried from them and it’s good, easy drinking and great with milk, despite the fact I only buy SO normally.

mission701 keep meaning to try Assembly for espresso but so far have only used them for pour over (and liked it a lot).

I have Assembly’s SO espresso and their espresso blend in the house at the moment. Both are great!

I like lighter roasted coffees. I get disappointed easily, but these are my usual go to roasters :

Curve based in Margate: https://www.curveroasters.co.uk
Sweven based in Bristol: https://www.swevencoffee.co.uk
The Source based in Edinburgh: https://www.thesourcecoffee.co.uk (even though they are crazy expensive)
Harmony based in York: https://www.harmonycoffee.co.uk
FCP based in Bristol: https://www.fcp.coffee
and Kiss The Hippo in London: https://kissthehippo.com

All really great. I also like Obadiah, Vibe with and Newground, but I wish they made an option to get the coffee without the box. Idk the extra packaging just seems kinda wasteful to me, but the coffee is really nice. Crankhouse is also great

Square Mile are offering tours of their roastery and tasting of some of their monthly coffees. Just mentioning here for those who don’t know and have an interest in such things: Link

My favourite roasties…

Oh…sorry….ROASTERS?…. Can’t say I have one. My coffee journey started with Rave which I still use, but I like to try different ones and get all my recommendations off you chaps and chapesses (are there any chapesses on here?), and consequently have just wandered into the Black Cat and Skylark domains. I like to support local roasters too, so for me that is Roost of Malton, York Coffee Emporium and Divine both of York too. I am searching Google to find any other in the North Yorkshire or even Yorkshire area to give them a try, once my supplies have been depleted enough… tha knows!

As for particular beans, again I like to try all sorts and do not have a preference for light and fruity or dark and chocolatey, I just love the variety and enjoy each one for its own character.

That for me is the beauty of this real coffee malarkey… and of course the like minded coffee drinking forum friends you make along the way.

As a certain Mr Hughie Green (or Mike Yarwood) used to say…. ‘And I mean that most sincerely’ :)

Pompeyexile Give Rounton a try. I’ve found their El Salvador Bosque Lya very pleasant and consistently roasted. North Star in Leeds is very good but a bit more expensive. The Blending Room from Hull is a bit more workaday, a bit more like Roost, but has some interesting coffees from time to time.

Have to hold my hands up here, they are not mine… just a picture grab off Google. Having said that, I don’t mind the odd boulder… that extra goose/duck/wagu fat (take your pick) soaked crunch, is irresistible.
