Thought The Gentlemen was very good and see they have left it open for another series. But as far TV as gangster series go, my top three so far are Peaky Blinders, Kin and my favourite Gangs of London.
What I'm listening to/Watching at the moment
I am always late to the party, but three things I have watched since Xmas, that are all old series but get full marks from me, are The Sopranos, Snowfall and Breaking Bad
Rewatching the Sopranos at the moment, it’s an absolute masterpiece.

Loved Sopranos and another excellent one worth watching is Sons of Anarchy with Ron Perlman and the UK’S Charlie Hunnam.
This has to be the best rendition of Heroes I have ever heard. Live no processing and he really seems to be enjoying it.
Also RIP Steve Harley (who died recently)…again the best version of Come up and see me I have ever heard, again live and unprocessed or pitch corrected. It’s non well known that Steve did a stint as Phantom of the Opera with Sarah Brightman. The guy could actually sing really well. The Wolfgram Sisters are the backing him, but are good singers in their own right, great backing vocals.
DavecUK It’s non well known that Steve did a stint as Phantom of the Opera with Sarah Brightman.
Not quite. He was first choice for the stage production but was dropped after rehearsals in favour of Michael Crawford which led to Steve suing ALW for compensation. Steve did record the promotional duet with Brightman though, which was released and successful. ALW never did explain why he dropped Harley.
This is an interesting song. I have not heard much by joe Bonamassa and this is both acoustic and live!
Discovered this a few months ago. The Floyd’s Hey You put together with a video made in 1930’s cartoon style about modern day alienation. They go together so well that it’s hard to believe that it wasn’t made to accompany the song.
Norvin I have seen that one before and quite agree!
The Gentlemen on Netflix!

Whilst his more recent stuff is a bit lacking, Joe Bonamassa has some fantastic tracks and knows his way around a blues cover.
His ‘Live at Royal Albert Hall’ gig from about 10 years ago is a treat and on YouTube. Clapton comes out and does the number he did on The Last Waltz.

Since it has been on lots have been said about it but boy is it good. A real emotional rollercoaster brilliantly acted and to think it is a true story..
Baby Reindeer.
A drama worthy of any award.
We have one episode of the new SKy Tattooist of Auschwitz……in parts it is very good, in others makes you wonder…..for example how many inmates in the camps had white teeth! Well worth a watch though
I started watching Rabbit Hole last night on Paramount+, starring Kieffer Sutherland. I watched the first episode and at the end I was well and truly hooked. Then I watched 2 more and it just gets better and better.
Highly, highly, recommended|!
It’s good that watched it last year. Took me a bit to workout.
I use YT a lot for music. I was in the car earlier and a playlist option came up for a David Gilmour Mix, so I tried it. The 3rd song in was No Decoder by Yogi Lang. It seems to be quite an old song and being aa fuddy duddy I have never heard of them! They are a sort of Floyd crossed with Yes but I found it quite pleasant to listen to
Thread revival. Teddy Swims . And American Rust S2

Though I have been aware of the Cure for many years I hadnt really listened to them until a few weeks ago. Certainly they were well ‘ before my time’ 😄. However, I can’t seem to get Close To Me out of my head at the moment. Love the brass section at the end.
Gone Fishing with Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse is obligatory Sunday evening watching at the moment followed by Charlie Coppers Myth Country on BBC 2. I love Bob Mortimer and could happily watch anything with him in.
Charlie Cooper’s This Country (Made with his sister Daisy) is one of the best sitcoms of recent years imho.

Just finished watching both series of BBC’s Alma’s Not Normal. Here we have a young woman, Sophie Willan who has written and acts in a comedy that tackles real social issues of mental health, addiction, children in care and prostitution (escorts) with real heart and laugh out loud humour, without diminishing the seriousness of those issues. She plays the part great, and you can’t help but love her character’s positive outlook and determination. But a real shout out has to go to the brilliant portrayal of her heroin addicted mother by Siobhan Finneran, very funny verbally and physically but painfully sad too.
What makes it even more amazing is that Sophie has written from her own real life experiences being brought up in care being pushed from pillar to post, having a heroin addicted mother and to becoming an escort to help pay her way through her arts career.
She is a Bolton girl, and it is based in Bolton, which given the Bolton accent makes it chuffin funny too.
My son recently put me on to Sky’s Gangs of London. It is really good, if you do not mind a bit of gratuitous violence! There are two series and in the first the male lead is that lad who played the policeman in The Night Sleeper
We have just started to watch this, keeps you n the edge of your seat.
Gangs of London is one of my top dramas of its ilk. Good story, good acting, and some of the best fight scenes ever outside a Hollywood film. Makes The likes of Murder She Wrote or Mid-Summer Murders something made for kids by Disney.
Something a little lighter but entertaining is Brassic on Netflix.
Brassic has me laughing out loud. My favourite character is Jim the farmer…. Angry potty mouth and just hilarious!
My son recently introduced me to Colter Wall…….I had never heard of him but I find him easy to listen to
I play playlists in the car through Apple play and another that crops up a lot is a track called No Decoder by Yogi Lang. Another one I like!
Kate McCannon song, very strong Johnny Cash vibe. I like it.
It is always a delight to come across someone who has ben around for years but I have never heard of! Sivert Hoyem is Norwegian and since hearing this track I have been playing his latst album a bit
u heard of this bloke?
