dfk41 I have just binge watched Homeland. There are 8 series with 12 episodes per series. I have the final 2 episodes to watch today! It really is a cut above a lot of things I have seen
Meldrew If you liked watching Snatch and Lock stock and two smoking barrels you might enjoy The Gentleman on Netflix.
HarveyMushman Meldrew I generally enjoy those kind of shows so looking forward to watching it. Enjoyed the film version!
Meldrew HarveyMushman According to my wife we watched the film version, not that I can remember it. Will have to watch it again and do a comparison.
Pompeyexile Thought The Gentlemen was very good and see they have left it open for another series. But as far TV as gangster series go, my top three so far are Peaky Blinders, Kin and my favourite Gangs of London.
dfk41 I am always late to the party, but three things I have watched since Xmas, that are all old series but get full marks from me, are The Sopranos, Snowfall and Breaking Bad
Pompeyexile Loved Sopranos and another excellent one worth watching is Sons of Anarchy with Ron Perlman and the UK’S Charlie Hunnam.
DavecUK This has to be the best rendition of Heroes I have ever heard. Live no processing and he really seems to be enjoying it.
DavecUK Also RIP Steve Harley (who died recently)…again the best version of Come up and see me I have ever heard, again live and unprocessed or pitch corrected. It’s non well known that Steve did a stint as Phantom of the Opera with Sarah Brightman. The guy could actually sing really well. The Wolfgram Sisters are the backing him, but are good singers in their own right, great backing vocals.
Gagaryn DavecUK It’s non well known that Steve did a stint as Phantom of the Opera with Sarah Brightman. Not quite. He was first choice for the stage production but was dropped after rehearsals in favour of Michael Crawford which led to Steve suing ALW for compensation. Steve did record the promotional duet with Brightman though, which was released and successful. ALW never did explain why he dropped Harley.
dfk41 This is an interesting song. I have not heard much by joe Bonamassa and this is both acoustic and live!
HarveyMushman dfk41 Whilst his more recent stuff is a bit lacking, Joe Bonamassa has some fantastic tracks and knows his way around a blues cover. His ‘Live at Royal Albert Hall’ gig from about 10 years ago is a treat and on YouTube. Clapton comes out and does the number he did on The Last Waltz.
Norvin Discovered this a few months ago. The Floyd’s Hey You put together with a video made in 1930’s cartoon style about modern day alienation. They go together so well that it’s hard to believe that it wasn’t made to accompany the song.
Pompeyexile Since it has been on lots have been said about it but boy is it good. A real emotional rollercoaster brilliantly acted and to think it is a true story.. Baby Reindeer. A drama worthy of any award.
dfk41 We have one episode of the new SKy Tattooist of Auschwitz……in parts it is very good, in others makes you wonder…..for example how many inmates in the camps had white teeth! Well worth a watch though
DavecUK I started watching Rabbit Hole last night on Paramount+, starring Kieffer Sutherland. I watched the first episode and at the end I was well and truly hooked. Then I watched 2 more and it just gets better and better. Highly, highly, recommended|!
