dfk41 hat the whole methodology seems to be about saving space, that that would also be a big problem. I am not sure what folks think a rotary pump actually beings to the table? It is quieter, after that, I am struggling
Good points David and I suspect that some of it is “grass is greener”.
In regard to the pump, a big part of the design is centered around being able to alter the temperature almost instantly during the pour which is pretty darned clever. I’m not sure if there are any other machines that do that but someone may be able to enlighten me on that score. (And I’m not saying it’s necessary to have that feature, more that it’s a pretty neat trick and clearly valued by some.)
The noise of the Decent pump seems to annoy some but I really don’t know why. It’s relatively quiet after the noise of any electric grinder that I’ve used. Would I prefer it to be silent? Sure, but to my ears at least it’s not audibly invasive at all.
