Surprise leak from the pressure gauge on the group head today.

Never changed one of these before. Anything to know to get it seated straight?

Raziel it’s very easy. 1st make absolutely sure you don’t twist the gauge by the body, if you do there is a great chance of the retaining mechanism between the guts of it and the case snapping off inside. There is a square nut type thing behind the gauge, use that to loosen it with a think spanner, or thin long nose pliers.

Then rewrap the thread in PTFE to it feel tight all the way in and stop when the gauge is in sufficiently (not all the way) and properly aligned

DavecUK Does anyone have a download link for the latest manual for the ACS Minima please? These links don’t seem to work any more. I am going all digital and don’t quite feel like manually scanning the paper manual I own.

DavecUK Thank you, I got his one downloaded. Not sure about the other link, maybe it’s an issue on my side, but it didn’t work. I even went to the old tapatalk forum and tried the OneDrive link you gave their but that one didn’t work either. :-)

Haven’t been in the machine recently. This is new. Looks like something is leaking

Any advice on where to start?

Observe it warming up from cold with the lid off, i suspect it’s coming from the fitting marked.

Not sure I know how to search “within” a specific thread yet (if that is possible?). I am going back and forth over whether getting flow control on a new ACS Minima would be advantageous or not. Is it highly recommended to have that added or does it not make a meaningful difference?

gregE I added flow control to mine (I was the 1st one)….I liked it, but I found the slowing ramp rate of the Minima gave a great shot as well.

Get a price with and without and then decide. It has come a long way since the early machines and is a mature product now (they know how to build them and they do it well. Drip tray grids are thicker, accessible drain valves for both boilers underneath (on copper tube extensions, nicer looking PID display etc..

The main thing I love about it is the solenoid group, just super low maintenance, unlike lever E61s. Don’t worry about the lack of a preinfusion chamber, makes no difference when using a vibe pump. In fact I wish more manufacturers would move to these E61 solenoid groupheads (It’s marketing fear that they don’t!).

DavecUK you actually just answered my next question about preinfusion. Reading my mind. Good to know that the vibe pump cancels that out

One interesting tidbit about the Minima. The espresso cup “riser” (i.e. platform) is 13cm x 10cm x3cm so you have to get a pretty small scale to fit on that. Or maybe it is easier to use without the riser? Currently in process of purchasing it so I am trying to think about the workflow as it will actually carry out.

Say lessss. you answered my question

As there are plenty of ACS Minima owners here I have a question for you all regarding payment. ACS issued me a proforma or what I would call an invoice. they then included bank account details to a bank in Lithuania. Not that that matters to me but after inserting the IBAN information for ACS’s recipient bank, my bank said it looks like a scam. I’m not thinking it is at all. But just wondering if any of you had similar process in your purchase?

The best way to check is to phone ACS using a known contact number on their website (not one that’s been emailed to you) and ask them to confirm their bank details. That should mean that there is no chance of a scam

Hi. I asked to pay by a credit card (using a card that doesn’t have fees for using in other currencies) they sent me a link and I paid with the card. Ask if that’s still an option as I bought mine 18 months ago.
