BaggaZee It was fun making it. I found an youtube video, but one can work it out even without it. I would like some walnut handles but I have not bothered myself so far. Given the machine is behind a door most of the time, this is the place my better half agreed for me to have, I do not think the aesthetics would be visible whence I have not done anything. Walnut or not it still makes great coffee 🙂

    DavecUK It is still there😊.
Thank you very much for the alias e-mail option. I have just created one. This is such a carefree solution.

      DavecUK unstickied the discussion .

Blimey, it’s been a while since I’ve visited this thread and I’ve had to put my sunglasses on, there is so much shiny chrome on display.

My set-up has changed reduced quite a bit since posting my original photo. Both the Gaggia and Brasilia have moved on to pastures new. My coffee prep area is less cluttered, but there is still a nice little space ready and waiting for the Niche. Until then, the ROK grinder is doing a sterling job.

      Bianca

I’ve harped on about it enough but I can’t see ever wanting another espresso machine. I’m considering stockpiling E61 parts just to keep it going forever 😅

Love/hate relationship with the x54. Looks great and most of the time I get really good results in the cup. I’m considering turning a walnut hopper lid and tray for it if I end up keeping it. And when I say turning, I mean having someone else do it…

Currently buying a new house after which I’ll get the Bianca plumbed in and tidy up my space a bit.

Ernie1 the Bianca definitely deserves a new house 😄

Ernie1 It truly is a nice machine…pretty much all the owners I know absolutely love it…just don’t forget to lube that paddle system every once in a while…removal is not difficult.

        @DavecUK

Thanks, I was about to ask actually as it’s coming up to a few months of ownership so was getting ready to lube the paddle and lever cam.

Is there a recommended method for removing the chrome fasteners? I’ve got no shortage of tools but never had to remove anything chrome plated. I want to be sure not to marr the finish.

I don’t trust those guards (only) as they can still cause scratches. I also wrap whatever I’m loosening/fastening with electrical tape.

This is mine currently. Just got the scales this weekend to start measuring and so far they’re proving successful as reads changes quickly and per bean, bargain at £10 with a timer.

Knipex pliers wrench and then use some electrical tape on the nut, they don’t have any play in them like a traditional spanner/adjustable spanner so they’re perfect for when you don’t want to damage something

        Perfect, thanks.

Out of interest does anyone know the size of the paddle nut and lever nut on the Bianca? I’m assuming it’s metric?

it is, might be 14 mm, can’t remember

I realised after posting that I could just walk to the kitchen with a tape measure…
