John_Yossarian me too!

It’s been a looong wait. Ordered in February from memory.

It’s now in Melbourne getting the once over by the hyper diligent Chris Natoli of TalkCoffee who is planning to ship it to me around December 6th. Means I’ll probably have it around the 13th.

So hopefully I can post a review mid January.

Am I right in thinking Bella barista have dropped the nurri?

Decent De1pro v1.45 - Niche Duo - Niche Zero - Decent is the best machine ever made -

Cuprajake They still had at least one in stock when I ordered my Leva in June… as they had a Nurri (or two - I think one in stainless and one in wood finish)

Yeah, I don’t think the Nurri machines lasted very long at Bella Barista. They’ve been out of stock for a while now, but were in stock (or was it pre-order) a few months back.

I wonder if predictable supply is an issue. Over 60 direct pre-orders at the Milan show alone.

Got an email reply from Antonio Nurri about U.S.A. TYPE-L availability yesterday:

"We’re going to manufacture the first batch of 110V beginning of next year.
Meanwhile we’re dealing with a nearby distributors and will keep you posted about that."

When I get more info I will post it here.

tompoland Thanks Tom for providing the information. It seems Christmas will come earlier this year 🙂.

Fingers crossed that the transportation goes as planned and the machine arrives intact.

I look forward to your (I am sure of it) detailed and passionate review. 👍

Dave: Are you at a point where you can share what you liked about the Nurri Leva S.A. and what you didn’t like?

cyclezib Dave: Are you at a point where you can share what you liked about the Nurri Leva S.A. and what you didn’t like?

I think it would be unfair to do that because the machine I looked at was one of the first 3 made and I think, very much a prototype.

cyclezib FWIW I’ll post a review of my unit after 90 days of daily use, around the second half of March.

I’m expecting mine by the end of January. Just excited about receiving it and also interested in whether it makes espresso as good or better than the Strietman? I’m hopeful for better consistency.

cyclezib Can I ask you a question matey? Firstly, I am an Evo Leva owner, and secondly, if the Nurri had been available when I bought mine (arrived June 2021) would I have considered it over the Evo? Of course, I cannot start to answer that as the simple answer was that it was not available! So, could you share with us, the deciding factors that made you go Nurri?

cyclezib I can confirm that you’ll get greater consistency with the Nurri. I have both and love them both very much.

The consistency in the Nurri comes from the pre-set pressure of a sprung lever machine versus the manual pressure of a direct lever.

There are pluses and minuses with both direct and sprung. The direct gives you more real time control over the pour. The sprung trades that level of control off for consistency. Yes, you can stop a sprung lever but it’s not built for that.

To date, I have different grinders paired with each of the two machines so I can’t tell you if one produces a preferred espresso versus the other.

One day I’ll dial in the Moca SD for the Strietman and do some side by side comparisons between it and the Nurri.

There were comments on the HB site indicating that the Evo had known issues. Whether perceived or real, these lead me to the Nurri. The fact that Antonio Nurri had a role in creating the Vostok and Evo also influenced me. My thought is that he was the creative force behind these two machines and the Nurri Leva S.A. would be an advance. Again, this is perception.

cyclezib Interesting thoughts matey and many thanks for sharing! Just to correct a small point. Antonio had zilch input into the Evo which was the brainchild from start to finish of our own @DavecUK . As for the Vostok, I am not sure as the mult igroup configurations have been around a while now, but Dave will know!
Enjoy your machine when it arrives matey!
