Decent De1pro v1.45 - Niche Duo - Niche Zero - Decent is the best machine ever made -

so pulled the cast iron don pacho a bit longer, 17g to 42g out and it mellowed the proseco a bit and added some sweetness

I need to order some beans - light / medium light both for filters and espressos. The beans also need to cut well with milk as a flat white. Any recommendations please?

I am looking at

  • Foundry’s Guatemala,
  • Crankhouse’s Shoondhisa and Mio Estate
  • Not sure about Darkarts Roadrash. The lady on the phone said mainly it is for filter, isn’t sure about milk. She asked the roaster, who said busy and can’t answer! 🙄

I’ve had the shoondhisa. Was quite mellow, I liked it as a black coffee.

Prob wouldn’t cut well in milk

Yes I’ve bought from Unorthodox a good few times, never had a bad bag from them. I personally wouldn’t hesitate to buy from them any time.

LMSC I just ordered 4 bags from them so will come back in a couple weeks with my thoughts!

LMSC All beans are roasted light

I just looked at their website and the coffee looks good.

When you say the above statement, where did you see that information? I couldn’t find it.

        • LMSC replied to this.

MediumRoastSteam I am afraid I no longer remember. It’s been a while! 😊 Sorry!

I can see from the description that the below are light roasts

          Safari
          Wee Stoater

Jacquesburg do you have some thoughts to share? I just had a browse and just by the way they talk about their coffees I’m all in. Seems to be some real passion and knowledge there. And i love a roaster that leans hard into funkier coffees. (When i worked at Rave for a bit, it was a running joke that im a sucker for a good high altitude natty)

I’ve put in an order for a bag of natural Brazilian peaberry ‘Ultimate Stoater’. Will report back with spro and filter findings

Colonna right now and Django both filter .

tobyjrn6 Findings: Really phenomenal coffee, espresso and filter. I think I probably pulled my favourite shot ever yesterday. I wouldnt usually gravitate towards Brazil but something about some of the slightly higher altitude, slightly denser naturals from there really does it for me. It’s like you get all of the juicy fruit of an ethiopia plus some rounded chocolate on top. Really incredible stuff.

The spro is boozey and syrupy, the filter cleans right up and you can pick some of the more delicate fruity floral notes
