dndrich Yeh I had bought a 58.4mm tamper to use with my Gaggia, which I really like, so that’ll be fine to use with the Lizzy.

hornbyben That’s great knowledge from a long term user that you simply cannot find anywhere. And those “issues” would have frustrated me for sure.

The Bravo tamper is worth considering too. Self levels against the basket and uses spring force for consistent pressure.

Bella Barista opens up tomorrow, will call and order the Lelit Elizabeth.

Thank you all for having the patience with me, and for the genuine help, truly appreciate it. I really couldn’t have arrived to this decision without you lot, thank you!!!

DrForinor Sounds like you’ve made the right choice for you. You’ll definitely be able to get some great coffee. Enjoy

Yes, as an Elizabeth owner myself I concur. I went for the Elizabeth as a very capable machine that had all of the necessary elements to produce top line coffee and milk drinks. I felt when I purchased it that it was the least expensive option that had all that I wanted. It has not disappointed at all. In fact, the more I use it, the more I appreciate so many aspects of the machine, from the easy programming, mighty boilers, easy cleaning, and small footprint compared to so many other dual boiler machines. Add a great company in Lelit and great online help such as this forum and DaveC’s documents, and it has done it for me. I will not “upgrade”. This machine was the upgrade I needed.

dndrich That’s so very satisfying to hear. Glad you’re happy with it, hopefully I’ll be in the same position soon 😁

      Lelit Elizabeth ordered.

Called up hoping that they could check the pressure was at 9 bars before sending it out. They didn’t have any technicians in but said he was confident it should be at 9 bars - I could have placed the orders ages ago 😅

Now, do I place the order for the Niche Zero? Or stick with my SPTK 38?

CoyoteOldMan The ONLY reason I am thinking about the Niche - I don’t want to get a machine that is capable of wonderful coffee, but is let down by the grinder (taste wise)? If that’s not the case, then I will leave everything else as is.

You will see a step up, in grind.

        But

I would play with the grinder you have for now, learn the machine, and then upgrade. Take your time

        It can do the job

        Thanks guys.

FedEx 1 day delivery, he wasn’t sure if I’ll get it tomorrow though, so perhaps Friday at the latest.

        Brilliant news can’t wait.

I very much like the idea of grinding directly into the cup, then the cup fits straight onto the portafilter - what the Niche has become well known for.

Is there a cup I can get that I can use with the SPTK that will fit the portafilter as neatly?

DrForinor I have one of these, nothing fancy but does the job. Though i now find direct grind to PF fits my workflow better.

DrForinor if you buy a niche you get a free cup with it 😜

            Do you have a funnel?

I grind into cup, then use into the funnel,I’m 54mm so the cup doesn’t fit.

            Then I wdt and tamp

              Penance Nothing loaded up?

Cuprajake Hehehe, yes I’ll have to wait for that free cup 😅 I do have a funnel right now and that’s what I do, but I’m just thinking of ways to streamline the process as much as possible - also minimise the number of things I have out. If I could grind into the cup and then directly into the PF, can et rid of the funnel.

I did have a look at that, just wasn’t sure how good it was based on a couple of the reviews. One shows a rust spot?
